The YouTube Channel Manager will be a key member of the Channel Management team within the Kids & Family Digital Studio. This manager will focus on driving the publishing, optimization, and growth strategy for select channels within the Paramount Pictures, Nickelodeon, and Nick Jr. portfolios, with a specific emphasis on priority franchises and new digital channel launches! The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in coordinating the day-to-day operations of these high-priority YouTube channels, driving audience growth, and handling community engagement.

This role requires a deep understanding of YouTube standard processes and social video strategies, supporting optimization and video intelligence sharing efforts. The ideal candidate is a creative, data-driven channel management expert with a proven track record of developing audiences and growing engagement on the YouTube platform. This candidate will help develop and implement a strategy to grow their channels and help formulate critical metrics in concert with various cross-departmental collaborators. Finally, this candidate should be an enterprising and highly collaborative leader able to coordinate closely with all programming calendars, creative teams, audience development, marketing, analytics, and our YouTube partners!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the calendar management and optimization of content for assigned YouTube channels, ensuring both operational efficiency and strategic growth
  • Work with analytics and audience development teams to build and optimize titles, tags, descriptions, cards, playlists, thumbnails and other content/features across the channel(s)
  • Lead all aspects of community management efforts, including engaging with fans, crafting posts, and moderating comments to foster an active and engaged audience
  • Support short-form content strategy development by providing regular YouTube analytics content performance insights
  • Work with producers and post teams to track content delivery and maintain master publishing schedules/calendars
  • Play a key role in A/B testing, especially for new channel content and formats with a focus on experimentation and optimization
  • Leverage TubeBuddy, VidIQ, Tubular Labs, and other platforms to share additional insights with important partners
  • Regularly report and share channel performance with senior creative and business partners
  • Drive collaboration across cross-departmental teams (e.g., programming, creative, marketing, and social teams) to ensure alignment on central initiatives and important metrics
  • Attend weekly brainstorms and scheduled interdepartmental meetings
  • Update team on progress/status/issues/troubleshooting on a weekly basis
  • Maintain high spelling and grammar standards across the channel
  • Pay attention to emerging trends within the social video and kid/youth entertainment landscape
  • Occasional video editing and graphic design
  • The role may require occasional evening or weekend support
  • May perform other duties as assigned


Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years' experience working in Digital Media for a content publisher or agency
  • Demonstrated experience driving growth for priority franchise YouTube channels, particularly in managing cross-functional campaigns and initiatives
  • Experience using YouTube Studio and digital analytics tools


Additional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
  • Demonstrated passion for youth-oriented media, YouTube and the social video space
  • Past experience writing social media copy, video titles and descriptions (SEO knowledge preferred)
  • Proven expertise in community management and fan engagement, with experience crafting content for community tabs and social media.
  • Expertise in A/B testing, content optimization, and developing growth strategies for digital platforms
  • Proficient knowledge of Adobe Premiere and Adobe Photoshop
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with high proficiency in English copy
  • Experience interpreting data, building presentation decks and sharing analytical conclusions
  • Ability to multi-task, problem solve and operate independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail
  • Possess an optimistic can-do mentality

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $80,000.00 - 90,000.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
