Position Summary
TESAT Government (an Airbus U.S. subsidiary), is seeking an experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our manufacturing team working on the establishment of the AI&T production line and project execution. TESAT Government, along with its parent, Airbus U.S., is a leading supplier of spacecraft equipment, technology and solutions to U.S. customers focusing on optical (i.e., laser) communications. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a strong test and manufacturing background with the drive to tackle complex and challenging opportunities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Position Responsibilities:
Manufacturing Engineering (40%)
- Lead Optical Communication Terminal (OCT) Manufacturing Process.
- Provide guidance and expertise in the selection and installation of new equipment and technologies.
- Perform all the necessary manufacturing engineering activities to develop, maintain, and evolve OCT products.
- Review manufacturing data and metrics to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement to achieve on time delivery of quality products.
- Lead the creation and maintenance of work instructions, standard operating procedures, and process documentation.
- Identify and implement corrective actions to resolve manufacturing process problems through testing, evaluation, and analysis.
- Design, implement, and continuously improve manufacturing processes.
Integration and Test (30%)
- Ensure all manufacturing processes adhere to industry standards, including AS9100.
- Coordinate closely with multidisciplinary teams for system integration, validation, and verification.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration OCT's to ensure product design is optimized for manufacturability.
- Develop and release documentation addressing processes for assembly, integration, and test of flight hardware and test equipment.
- Oversee tooling, equipment reporting, preventative maintenance, and tracking for test stations and GSE.
Risk Management (15%)
- Lead root cause analysis (RCAs) investigations and implement corrective actions.
- Engage in continuous monitoring of technical health to anticipate and resolve technical challenges.
Process & Internal Support (15%):
- Support evaluation of new business opportunities by conducting feasibility studies, performing technical assessments, and contributing analytical insights.
- Drive process improvement initiatives, enhancing internal documentation, methodologies, and team collaboration.
- Mentor and provide technical leadership and support to the manufacturing team, technicians, and cross-functional team members.
- Maintain knowledge of new and developing manufacturing technology, equipment, and applications; applies this knowledge to improve manufacturing processes.
Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering.
- 5-10 years of experience in manufacturing, operations, or related field. An emphasis on space/aerospace manufacturing is a plus.
- Excellent analytical problem-solving, and clear communication skills.
- Collaborative team orientation, capable of effectively working in remote and multi-disciplinary teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with new product integration and test standards
- Prior experience with developing and releasing documentation addressing processes for assembly, integration, and test of flight hardware and test equipment.
