Position Summary
Design, build, and maintain the infrastructure and systems that enable effective data collection, storage, processing, and distribution of research data. This is a critical role that enables effective and efficient data-driven research by providing the necessary infrastructure and support to accommodate complex data requirements and ensure data integrity, security, and accessibility.
Essential Duties
Create and maintain relational and non-relational databases, ensuring they are optimized for performance and scalability. Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines to automate the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from various sources into research databases. Implement, manage, monitor, and optimize data infrastructure to ensure high availability and reliability. Develop and implement processes to clean, validate, and standardize data to ensure its accuracy and reliability. Ensure that data storage and processing comply with security standards and regulations. Work closely with data scientists, researchers, and analysts to understand their data needs and provide the necessary infrastructure and tools to support their work. Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for data-related issues encountered by researchers and other stakeholders. Develop and maintain custom tools and scripts to facilitate data collection, processing, and analysis. Create documentation for all data pipelines, infrastructure and procedures. Works with researchers, statisticians and faculty to develop data analysis, quality control, and reporting plans for research projects. Prepares datasets and databases for analysis. Assists investigators in running analysis and presentation programs and prepares output of presentation quality. Provides training to other staff members, biostatisticians, and researchers as necessary. Periodic off-hours support for system maintenance activities.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, data science, or a closely related field. Work Experience: A minimum of 3 years experience in a data engineering, software development, database management, and/or clinical research role. Experience in research data management preferred. Salary Range: $89,208.44 - $117,978.17
