The AbeBooks Customer Operations and Success (COS) team is seeking a skilled Risk Management Program Manager to own critical trust and compliance programs. The role focuses on protecting and enhancing our global customer base through customer advocacy, analytical insight, and strategic program management. This position requires a highly analytical self-starter to drive significant impact through data-driven strategic decision-making and program implementation. As a structured thinker and strong collaborator, you will partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders across program management, product, tech, legal, and operations teams.

You'll excel at breaking down complex, ambiguous problems into simple, actionable solutions with a keen sense of urgency. This work includes developing project plans, facilitating productive meetings, delivering clear communications, and reporting on progress and results. You'll need to balance structured planning with the ability to be scrappy and move quickly when situations demand it. Key job responsibilities
- Own and execute customer trust and compliance programs
- Transform complex regulatory requirements into clear business requirements and scalable solutions
- Analyze program data using SQL, Excel, and visualization tools to monitor performance, investigate trends, and develop insights
- Build and maintain reports and dashboards to track key metrics and deliver business reviews
- Partner with product and tech teams to scope and implement trust-building features
- Drive program adoption through stakeholder engagement and clear communication
- Manage multiple high-impact initiatives while maintaining strong attention to detail
A day in the life
A typical day may involve:
- Diving deep into data to uncover trends, pain points, and opportunities
- Developing and implementing new compliance and abuse monitoring and prevention solutions
- Facilitating working sessions with stakeholders to align on requirements and implementation plans
- Reviewing program metrics and developing optimization strategies
- Preparing updates on program progress and performance to present to senior leadership
- Regularly reviewing the program roadmap and goals with stakeholders and leadership
- Supporting and resolving complex customer trust, compliance, and regulatory escalations

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 4+ years of compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
- 3+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
- Experience developing program strategies and plans, driving execution, and influencing senior stakeholders experience
- Advanced proficiency in SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau)
- Speak, write, and read fluently in English
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree
- Experience in trust and safety, risk management, or regulatory compliance programs
- Knowledge of relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, EPR, DAC7, 6050W)
- Strong understanding of e-commerce and online marketplace operations
- Experience with programming languages like Python
- Additional language skills (German, French, Italian, or Spanish)

The base salary for this position ranges from $69,700/year up to $116,400/year. Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
