We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Business Analyst with experience in legal technology applications and conflict of interest search processes. In this role, you will work closely with legal teams, compliance officers, and IT to evaluate, implement, and optimize systems related to legal case management, new matter intake, and conflict checking. Your expertise will help drive smarter decision-making, ensure regulatory compliance, and enhance operational efficiency across the firm.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and document business requirements for legal applications, particularly those supporting conflict searches and matter intake (e.g., Intapp, Aderant, Elite 3E).
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to enhance conflict search processes and reduce risk exposure.
  • Translate business needs into technical specifications, process maps, and functional workflows.
  • Support the intake and conflicts teams during new client onboarding processes by identifying system pain points and recommending improvements.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for systems, configurations, and process flows.
  • Develop reports and dashboards to support conflict resolution and legal operations tracking.
  • Assist in testing system upgrades, patches, and new features for legal software platforms.
  • Train users on best practices for legal applications and ensure adoption of new tools or workflows.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Legal Studies, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in a legal or professional services environment.
  • Hands-on experience with legal applications such as Intapp Open, Intapp Conflicts, Elite 3E, Aderant, or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of legal conflict search methodologies and risk management concepts.
  • Experience with SQL, data analysis, and report generation (Power BI, Excel, or similar).
  • Exceptional communication skills - both written and verbal - with the ability to translate between technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficient in requirements gathering, process mapping, and system documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with data privacy, ethics, and regulatory compliance within legal services.
  • Experience supporting or working with compliance, risk, or intake teams at a law firm or in-house legal department.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies or project management practices (PMP, Scrum, etc.).
