North American Stores Technology (NAS Tech) is looking for a Principal Technical Program Manager (TPM) to define, build, and own the feedback loops between our software engineers (builders) and partners. This role will represent NAS Tech builders to Worldwide Amazon Stores (WWAS) central tech teams, influencing product roadmaps to effectively enable builders to deliver against NAS Tech business priorities.
Key job responsibilities
As a Principal TPM for NAS Tech Builder Enablement, you'll be an individual contributor who advocates on behalf of builders. You'll design and build mechanisms to collect the voice-of-the-builder (VoB) on central team tools and services, barriers to delivery, architectural trends, etc. You'll deliver clear, organized NAS Tech VoB to central teams, defining requirements, prioritizing NAS roadmap items, and tracking improvements over time. This role requires empathy for our builders, a deep understanding of NAS Tech priorities, familiarity with WWAS central team portfolios, exemplary technical program management, high judgment, thought leadership, and the ability influence without authority through effective communication (written and verbal) and stakeholder management.
A day in the life
As a Principal TPM for NAS Builder Enablement, your day will be a mix of engagements with NAS builders and WWAS central teams, as well as heads-down time for strategic planning and tactical execution. You'll balance builder feedback with business priorities to effectively weigh tradeoffs and drive the right product improvements by our central team partners. You'll build mechanisms to monitor progress and impact, and communicate results to NAS Tech builders and leaders, as well as our partner teams.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 10+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 5+ years of software development experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Bachelor's Degree
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $159,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $275,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
