What can you expect from this position?

Reporting to the Associate Director, Corporate Strategy, the Manager, Strategic Planning & Governance will play a pivotal role in driving strategic communications within the organization, developing and delivering strategy-related materials, storytelling of strategic initiative progress, and facilitating effective communication through all levels of the organization.

You play a key role in developing the "drumbeat" of the organization, supporting the executive in establishing business cadence and governance that drive effective decision making, performance rigor and progress towards our goals.,

As Manager, Strategic Planning & Governance, you will:

  • Work collaboratively across the organization to align day-to-day activities and functions with strategic plans, ensuring the strategy is well understood and embedded across the organization to maintain an advanced understanding of the business and how departmental initiatives support/align to the Strategic Plan
  • Partner with internal stakeholders including HR to ensure corporate culture reflects and enables corporate strategy, the Executive Office, Board Office and Treasury Department, to develop an annual plan/workback schedule that aligns strategy work with all relevant reporting requirements and deadlines (i.e. financial, regulatory, internal), and other departments as needed stakeholders to maintain an advanced understanding of the business and how departmental initiatives support/align to the Strategic Plan
  • Track overall progress toward organization's current Strategy, goals and targets. Develop content to give cohesive and holistic views of the organization's performance against the strategic plan, Leverage industry data and comparators to assess GTAA's relative progress
  • Support effective governance of executive team meetings through development of agendas that are timely and topical, follow up with action owners and stakeholders to ensure that all actions are completed on time and as requested, board paper preparation, day-of run of show, pre-meetings and build back scheduling
  • Influence the development of organizational KPIs that align to our strategic objectives and supports the facilitation of a business performance platform to monitor progression


This is the role for you, if you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, strategy, analytics, or a combination of education and relevant experience
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in strategy development, strategic planning, corporate governance, and direct experience with C-suite and/or Board of Directors
  • Demonstrated experience working in a customer centric environment
  • Ability to obtain and retain Transportation Security Clearance
