The role of Director of Quality is a pivotal position within this organization, responsible for guiding and implementing the compliance program in the designated region or ministry. The Director of Quality reports directly to the System Director of Compliance and Privacy, working closely with regional leadership and the Compliance team. As an integral member of the leadership team, the Director serves as a compliance expert, providing guidance and counsel on ethical business practices and matters of compliance. The role involves leading regional compliance committees and presenting updates and reports to regional boards and leadership.
The compliance unit is devoted to promoting and executing the compliance program through consistent application of policies and procedures. The Director leads initiatives to detect, correct, and prevent noncompliance issues, addressing new and emerging compliance laws and requirements. The unit oversees investigations into matters such as the Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, and other healthcare regulations. Compliance risk assessments are conducted regularly to evaluate and mitigate potential risks, aligning activities with the annual compliance work plan.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing leadership and advice on compliance matters, leading regional compliance initiatives, and ensuring the effectiveness of the compliance program. This includes coordination of compliance investigations, addressing compliance questions, and monitoring corrective action plans. Working closely with the legal team and other functional areas, you will ensure proper interpretation and education regarding compliance laws and regulations. Additionally, you will assist with setting strategy for the annual work plan and address high-risk compliance and privacy issues.
