Position Summary: The Director of Finance for Senior Living is dedicated to collaboration among the various business units to further the successful execution of our Seniors Living platform. This includes financial analytics and reporting to sites, forecasting, working with marketing, development and asset management.

Qualifications Required:
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting. Masters degree preferred.
  • Must have 5 or more years' accounting experience in seniors living, public accounting experience preferred.
  • Should possess substantial knowledge of laws and regulations governing seniors living and HUD financing.
  • Should possess knowledge of partnership/ LLC structures, equity ownership.
  • Understanding of various types of debt structure, financial modeling of senior living projects and documents.
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting and budgeting is required.
  • Must possess the ability to read and analyze financial reports and other accounting data.
  • Must possess the ability to effectively present information to management.
  • Must possess the ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts and operations to tasks.
  • Knowledge and ability to coordinate all financial audits, direct and interact with Auditors. Identify appropriate responses in difficult situations.
  • Experience in the Yardi platform is highly preferred. Strong command of the Office Suite is required
  • Ability to effectively communicate with the ED's and other operations staff.
  • Ability to make complex decisions requiring a high degree of judgment. Decisions affect the overall operation of the communities.

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations:
  • CPA or master's degree in accounting or related field

Functions andResponsibilities:
  • Lead the Senior Living Finance team including all team members, audits, Hud responses, operations interactions, etc.
  • Identify improvements and goals for the SLO finance team and program to position the team and Wallick for success.
  • Be a subject matter expert on all things senior living, HUD, audit, tax for senior living projects.
  • Lead the interactions with the auditors during audit season, be the subject matter expert for senior living audits. Organize and prepare for audits.
  • Complete or analyze monthly financial statements for all communities. Provide suggestions and feedback for areas of cost control or improvement. Research particular areas of concern with the finance team.
  • Mentor and direct the Senior Living accountants to provide accurate monthly financial reporting to SVP SLO, Executive directors, VP Finance, Asset Management, ownership, etc. Review financial data prepared for accuracy and timely reporting.
  • Collaborate and provide support and technical expertise and assistance to the SVP-SLO for all projects and analytics.
  • Financial forecasting
  • Active participation and usage of Bl tools for real time senior living reporting
  • Development process
  • Direct interaction with Executive Director and other community level teams
  • Ownership/Asset Management related activities
  • Coordination of financial preparation with rest of finance team and provide oversite to property analyst/accountant
  • Perform other related duties as assigned, other duties may include:

Physical Demands: Position requires work to be performed in an office setting. Extensive use of a computer, keyboard and mouse; requires walking talking, seeing and hearing. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment: Work takes place in an office setting with moderate noise levels. Occasional travel may be required.
