Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program management.
  • 5 years of experience in environmental compliance or a related field.


Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience testing and validating compliance with energy efficiency regulations such as EU Lot X, EU Lot 7, EU Lot 6, EU Lot 3, US DOE, CEC, and Energy Star.
  • Experience developing specifications, standard operating procedures, or test protocols.
  • Experience validating electronic products to sustainability standards (e.g., UL110 and IEEE 1680.1).
  • Demonstrated participation with standards bodies and trade organizations such as UL, Digital Europe, ITI, CTA and IEEE.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you'll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You'll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

The Environmental Compliance and Sustainability team supports all products and accessories with the Devices and Services Product Group of phones, laptops, tablets, home safety/security/entertainment devices and wearables. in this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that Google Consumer Hardware products meet all applicable energy related environmental and product sustainability standards, requirements and best practices. You will work with Product Design Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Wireless Engineers, Manufacturing Partners, Legal Counsel, Supply Chain, and Operations to ensure that related requirements are implemented throughout the product life-cycle.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $156,000-$229,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Ensure Google's consumer hardware devices, including accessories, meet materials, energy efficiency, environmental sustainability, and biocompatibility requirements.
  • Provide technical energy efficiency support and requirements to environmental compliance Technical Program Managers (TPMs) and product teams.
  • Drive direction of Google's energy efficiency program by setting goals, tracking emerging regulations, and engaging with regulators and trade organizations.
  • Develop and refine energy testing techniques and support lab personnel with technical guidance.
  • Drive program deliverables at key milestones with timelines using strong program management and influencing skills, while tracking and communicating program status to stakeholders (from engineers to executives).
