You will provide both strategic direction and day-to-day oversight of facilities operations and critical equipment. Job Summary:
As a Reliability & Maintenance Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in our distribution center's automation, modernization, and optimization efforts. You will provide both strategic direction and day-to-day oversight of facilities operations and critical equipment. In this role, you'll be accountable for the full scope of facilities management, including planning, design, construction, maintenance, and policy development - all aligned to meet organizational objectives related to safety, efficiency, and performance.
Job Duties:
- Lead, develop, and support a team of Maintenance Supervisors and Automation Maintenance Technicians by offering hands-on guidance, coaching, and performance management to achieve department goals.
- Collaborate with Operations leadership and maintenance planning personnel to schedule service on automation, conveyance systems, and other vital equipment during planned downtime (e.g., shift transitions, breaks).
- Drive the creation and execution of contingency strategies to ensure minimal disruption in the event of equipment failure.
- Promote and implement best practices in reliability and maintenance to support a culture of continuous improvement.
- Coordinate technician and maintenance planner coverage across all operational shifts, including weekends.
- Oversee the planning, budgeting, and execution of facility modifications and maintenance projects - including cost estimation for labor, equipment, and materials.
- Track key maintenance performance indicators such as equipment uptime, mean time to repair (MTTR), mean time between failures (MTBF), and other relevant metrics.
- Develop and implement facilities policies and procedures that ensure compliance and enhance operational efficiency.
- Manage space planning, communication infrastructure, and facility expansions to accommodate evolving business needs.
- Review and optimize preventive maintenance tasks and scheduling to ensure equipment reliability and operational readiness.
- Maintain rigorous safety and compliance standards across all facilities operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree is required, preferably in Engineering or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in Facilities Engineering and Maintenance Management.
- 3+ years of experience supervising a team of maintenance and/or reliability personnel.
- Must have previous experience working in a distribution, warehouse, or fulfillment facility.
- Strong understanding and proven experience working with automated material handling equipment.
- Proficient in the use of Building Automation Systems (BAS), CMMS platforms, and knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems.
- Proven track record of driving operational improvements and cost efficiencies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across all organizational levels.
- Ability to work onsite daily at our distribution facility in Memphis, TN.
