After Brightline Florida completed the first passenger rail system connecting Miami and Orlando, Brightline West was formed to connect Las Vegas and Southern California through the nation's first true high-speed, electric passenger rail system. Reaching speeds of more than 186 miles per hour, this 218-mile high-speed rail service will take passengers from Las Vegas to the Greater Los Angeles area twice as fast as the normal drive time.

SUMMARY

We are looking for an experienced Project Engineer, Track, to join our Brightline West team. This individual will be responsible for ensuring that the infrastructure is constructed in accordance with Design-Build Plans and Specifications.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform plan and specification reviews for track, systems, and civil design build contracts
  • Perform field surveys using provided survey equipment to verify that the final installation of subgrade and system equipment is as designed
  • Provide technical support to address any conflicts and participate in the resolution with various design-build contractors
  • Inspect materials for conformance to specifications and ensure they are stored and installed in accordance with industry standards
  • Provide technical oversight of the contractor's quality control program and ensure that all aspects of the track construction meet contract compliance at all times
  • Participate in quantity verifications for the pay applications throughout the project
  • Provide reports and documentation as required

REQUIRED AND PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Construction Track Inspector, Railroad Surveyor, or a combination of the two
  • Ability to interpret plans and specifications and use special tools and instruments to perform field verification of infrastructure as it is being constructed
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with word and excel
  • Ability to work in all-weather environments ,including extreme heat and cold
  • Ability to perform walking inspections on uneven surfaces for extended periods
  • Ability to work various shifts throughout the project
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record
