Summary

The COO collaborates with the Executive Team, Directors, and other members of the B&D Family as necessary to advance and oversee our construction and service operations. In collaboration with the team, the COO shall chart the strategic course of the Company's operations, ensuring efficiency, consistency and alignment of our goals with a primary focus on empowering our construction leadership with the tools, support, and innovative industry advancement required to perform at their peak, all while ensuring consistent adherence and efficient application of our Policies and Procedures. The COO will be responsible for developing and executing annual tactical and strategic business plans, in addition to leading comprehensive strategic planning efforts for both the short-term and long-term future. Another key responsibility is to represent and safeguard the Company against risk by actively engaging in large project planning and preconstruction efforts and optimizing construction execution. As the intermediary between the CEO and the construction and service leadership teams, the COO shall also serve as the primary champion of safety, excellence, and profitability of our work. The COO will report to the CEO.

Responsibilities
Develop and execute the company's operational strategy, aligning it with broader organizational vision and goals.
Lead the development of annual business plans, ensuring short-term objectives and long-term strategic goals are met.
Drive continuous operational improvement, identifying and implementing best practices in construction and maintenance.
Serve as a key advisor to the CEO and executive leadership on operational matters, risk management, and strategic growth.
Oversee company-wide efficiency initiatives, ensuring seamless coordination between departments.
Actively participate in Industry, Community, and Charitable Associations, Boards, events and initiatives.
Provide direct leadership and support to construction and service teams, ensuring operational excellence and efficiency.
Implement, monitor, and optimize construction and service Policies and Procedures to enhance consistency and effectiveness across projects.
Ensure proper resource allocation, including workforce, equipment, and materials to support operational needs.
Champion project execution efficiency, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are consistently met.
Oversee risk management efforts, identifying potential project risks and mitigating them proactively.
Act as the primary safety champion, enforcing a strong culture of workplace safety and compliance.
Ensure all operations align with industry regulations, environmental standards, and company policies and procedures.
Develop and implement risk management strategies, ensuring the company is protected from operational, legal, and financial risks.
Oversee compliance with contractual obligations, ensuring projects are delivered within scope and regulatory guidelines.
Ensure profitability and cost efficiency of construction projects through rigorous budgeting and financial controls.
Oversee cost management strategies, ensuring optimized procurement and resource allocation.
Lead efforts to improve operational KPIs, including productivity, revenue growth, and project delivery performance.
Collaborate with accounting and procurement teams to streamline supply chain management and minimize cost overruns.
Stay ahead of emerging industry trends, incorporating cutting-edge technology and best practices into operations.
Promote digital transformation and automation to improve construction processes and operational efficiency.
Drive innovation in construction methodologies, materials, and equipment usage to enhance project execution.
Promote collaboration and teamwork across departments to drive efficiency and innovation.
Other duties, activities, and responsibilities may vary and change as assigned.

Education, Experience, and Requirements
Project Management Professional Certification
Associate degree in Project Management
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering
Graduation from a trade apprenticeship program
Relevant work experience may substitute for the degree or certificate
Must be OSHA 10 Certified
15+ years' experience in the industry
Physical demands include long hours sitting, using a computer, standing, pulling/pushing, walking, lifting, and climbing.
This position requires advanced computer proficiency and advanced critical thinking skills.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position includes, but is not limited to, supervision of Sr. Directors and Directors.
