The Opportunity: Seeking a Chief Information Officer to lead a streamlined operation of the Information Technology Services department in alignment with the academic and administrative objectives of the College. The incumbent will also plan, coordinate, direct, manage and design IT-related activities of the College as well as provide administrative direction and support for daily operation activities of the Information Technology Services department and define and implement IT policies, procedures, and best practices. The Chief Information Officer will work with other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for the College. The Chief Information Officer is accountable for the overall leadership of the following functional areas: application support including enterprise systems support, application programming, database administration and web-based applications; cybersecurity; network support including network engineering, data centre operations and telephone, user support including central helpdesk, user training, pc support, telecommunications, print shop services, and learning management systems.

What you need to be successful:
  • Four-year degree in Computer Science/Information or equivalent
  • Minimum 10 years related work experience in a management role, preferably in a unionized environment
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional teams
  • Strong people leadership and business acumen, including excellent business relationship management skills
  • Coach, mentor, lead and inspire a diverse technology team through a period of transformation
  • Lead and empower a customer-centric IT team through strategic recruitment, talent development, and the establishment of clear accountability and performance standards
  • Demonstrable experience in leading significant system modernization and managing change through organizational transformation projects
  • Direct the development and enforcement of comprehensive security protocols, disaster recovery plans, and compliance frameworks to safeguard company assets and minimize technological risks
  • Collaborate proactively with cross-functional leaders and key stakeholders to ensure IT initiatives are strategically aligned with business priorities and deliver exceptional service
  • Provide executive approval and management of significant technology investments and cultivate strategic partnerships with external vendors to optimize service delivery and value
  • Proven track record of successfully leading technology projects and teams
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the IT department and across the organization, while managing IT budgets, resources, and vendor relationships to regulate technology investments and performance
  • Manage cybersecurity initiatives to protect the company's data, systems and networks from threats and vulnerabilities
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Establish IT compliance standards and practices in alignment with best practices including data classification and retention programs

This is a full-time administrative position. Salary range is Payband 14, $129,743 to $172,991 and is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
