PURPOSE

Manages project activities including developing, implementing, tracking budgets, tracking timelines and deliverables, and providing periodic evaluations and reports for projects that are generally medium in scope.

DESCRIPTION

Functional Area 1: Project Management

Percent Effort: 55%

Job Duties
  • Lead, direct, and develop scope of work for assigned projects.
  • Facilitates project management, coordination, and facilitation of activities and communication for assigned projects.
  • Responsible for independent action and judgement on assigned projects.
  • Facilitate meetings with requesters and project stakeholders. Provide updates on status completion to stakeholders. Coordinate action on follow-up items. Provide and ensure agendas and meeting minutes are available.
  • Oversee and manage contractors and provide instructions to ensure compliance with university regulations to include but not limited to procurement, parking, key access, site safety plans, etc.
  • Manage project quality control and assurance. Responsible for identifying issues, solving problems, and present solutions.


Functional Area 2: Contract Management

Percent Effort: 40%

Job Duties
  • Establish goals for project delivery. Coordinate and communicate changes in schedules to the campus community to include but not limited to UPD, EHS, IT, Campus Announcements, Building Announcements.
  • Monitor budget and invoice expenses related to construction project. Review invoices for accuracy and work performed.
  • Track reporting, deadlines, and milestones for each project.
  • Responsible for maintaining all documentation related to construction projects (as-builts, drawings, notes, emails, forms, etc).

Percent Effort: 5%

Job Duties
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Five (5) years of construction project management experience.
  • Additional experience may be used as a substitute for the minimum education requirement:
    • High school diploma/GED and nine (9) years of construction project management experience.
    • Associates degree and seven (7) years of construction project management experience.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to be able to communicate with all levels of administration.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Responsibility for follow-up on actions based on various team projects.
  • High organization skills in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to perform and manage technically complex projects using independent judgment and personal initiative.
  • Build strong internal and external relationships using effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Recognize and act on opportunities; adjust direction when situation warrants.
  • Work independently without regular direct supervision.


SALARY $80,004 Annually Approximately
  • $6,667 Monthly
