As a divisional VP of Finance at Kelso, you will serve as a vital business and financial partner to the Divisional Vice President of Operations and a key member of the corporate financial leadership team. In this role, you will drive corporate strategy development, monitoring, governance, and evaluation, with a keen focus on optimizing financial and operational performance. Your contributions will enhance value for investors, shareholders, and stakeholders, supporting the division's overall growth and success.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee the division's financial planning, analysis, and strategic initiatives, with a focus on enhancing fiscal performance.
  • Act as a strategic partner in divisional planning, providing insight into the financial impacts of long-term strategies, new initiatives, and regulatory actions.
  • Deliver timely and accurate financial analysis, including budgets, reports, and trends, to support the President and senior leadership in informed decision-making through leadership of the divisional accounting and finance function.
  • Develop, implement, and refine policies, systems, and procedures that enhance corporate effectiveness and operational efficiency.
  • Provide technical financial expertise and support ongoing improvements in the budgeting and forecasting process through departmental education.
  • Offer strategic financial insights on major business decisions, including potential alliances, acquisitions, and mergers.
  • Optimize cash management by developing a reliable cash flow projection process, including establishing minimum cash thresholds to meet operational needs.
  • Act as an advisor on financial aspects of all organizational contracts and obligations.
  • Evaluate and enhance the structure and capabilities of the finance team, promoting continuous improvement and growth within the division's finance function.

Qualifications and Skills:

Required Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance and/or Accounting
  • Proven experience as a VP of Finance, ideally within the construction industry, within a multi-site service operation or in a private equity backed organization.
  • 10-15 years of direct experience in finance
  • 5-7 years of financial and management experience in financial planning.
  • Strong leadership background with at least 5 years of experience supervising, mentoring, and developing high-performing finance teams.
  • Practical knowledge of procurement strategies, project management, contract and vendor management, and construction industry best practices.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, adept at engaging clients, stakeholders, and team members at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership, motivation, vision, and strategic direction.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification preferred.
  • Experience with ERPs, NetSuite and ADP is preferred.
  • Master's degree preferred.

Working Conditions
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to travel to various locations within division as needed (may be up to 30%)
  • We are filling two roles
    • West Division, candidates will need to be in SLC, UT or Phoenix, AZ preferably.
    • South Division, candidates will need to be in the SE, Atlanta, GA, Orlando, FL, Clearwater, FL, preferably.
