SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Technical Publications Manager to oversee the creation, management, and delivery of high-quality technical documentation. The ideal candidate will lead a team of technical writers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure that all technical content is clear, concise, and aligned with industry best practices. The Technical Publications Manager will play a key role in shaping the documentation strategy and ensuring that documentation meets both customer and business needs. This position will be on-site, full time with some travel required for team meetings or product training.

The Technical Publications Manager will play a key role in shaping the documentation strategy and ensuring that documentation meets both customer and business needs. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leadership & Management: Lead and mentor a team of technical writers, editors, and other technical writing professionals. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Content Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive technical publications strategy that aligns with company goals, product lifecycle, and user needs.
- Documentation Creation & Oversight: Oversee the creation of user manuals, online help, installation guides, release notes, technical specifications, and other technical content.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, product management, QA, and customer support teams to gather necessary information for documentation and ensure technical accuracy.
- Quality Assurance: Review and edit technical content to ensure clarity, accuracy, consistency, and adherence to documentation standards and company guidelines.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve documentation processes, tools, and workflows to enhance efficiency and product quality.
- Content Delivery: Ensure that documentation is delivered on time, within scope, and meets quality standards. Manage documentation projects and deadlines effectively.
- User Feedback: Gather feedback from users, product teams, and other stakeholders to improve the quality and usability of documentation.
- Standards Compliance: Establish and enforce editorial standards and best practices for technical documentation across all materials.
- Technical Tools & Technologies: Leverage content management systems (CMS), authoring tools, and other technical tools to create and maintain documentation efficiently.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, English, Engineering, or a related field. Or equivalent experience in the technical writing field.
- Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in technical writing or technical publications.
- 3+ years of experience in a managerial or leadership role
- Strong portfolio of work demonstrating expertise in technical documentation for complex products or software.
- Skills:
- Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of technical writing standards, tools, and methodologies.
- Ability to work in an agile environment and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Understanding of software development processes and technical concepts is highly desirable.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Full-time, in-office.
