WHAT WILL YOU DO?
We are seeking an experienced Intermediate Noise Engineer to join our team, specializing in land use planning support for noise impact and feasibility studies. As an integral member of our team, you will play a key role in assessing noise impacts and developing mitigation strategies to support land use planning and zoning amendment applications.
JOB DUTIES
Oversee and conduct noise and vibration impact assessments and feasibility studies for various land use developments, such as residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
Develop and implement noise mitigation strategies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Collaborate with multi-service project teams internal and external to Cambium, including planners, architects, and engineers, to ensure integrated and logical solutions are considered.
Prepare and present technical reports, recommendations, and findings to clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
Stay up to date with changing regulations, guidelines, and industry best practices related to noise and vibration assessments.
Develop and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to ensure effective communication and project delivery
Provide expert witness statements and testimony in litigation matters.
SOFT SKILLS
Communication skills: Ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Teamwork and collaboration: Willingness to work collaboratively with others, including engineers, technicians, and other consultants.
Problem-solving skills: Ability to analyze complex problems, identify key issues, and develop effective solutions.
Time management and organization: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
Adaptability and flexibility: Willingness to adapt to changing project requirements, priorities, and deadlines.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 4-6 years of experience in noise consulting, with a focus on land use planning support.
Strong knowledge of noise regulations, guidelines, and industry standards, including the Ontario Noise Guideline NPC-300.
Experience with noise modeling software, such as SoundPlan, CadnaA, or similar tools.
Excellent technical writing, communication, and presentation skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Professional certification, such as P.Eng. is an asset
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with land use planning and zoning regulations in Ontario
Knowledge of environmental assessment processes and regulations
