The Cboe Digital team is hiring for Software Engineer, Test.

The Software Engineer, Test at Cboe will work across US Clearing Systems groups, you will work alongside engineering and product teams to ensure new features and functionality work as expected. You will work to ensure the overall health of the system to ensure releases are stable, don't have a negative impact on customers, and are accomplished as smoothly as possible. This will be successfully achieved through a combination of manual and automation testing.

Your responsibilities will be:
  • Design, implement and extend test software applications to validate business requirements.
  • Review, document and understand system specifications.
  • Work with Product and Engineering teams to create effective test plans.
  • Develop and execute both manual and automated test cases, analyze results and provide feedback to necessary parties.
  • Create documentation around best testing practices.
  • Report bugs and work with engineering groups to come to a resolution.
  • Organize and track necessary changes to get the team to a release.
  • Develop and maintain code of proprietary java applications.
  • Evaluate system requirements, develop unit test plans and process flow and translate into technical quality assurance test cases.
  • Conduct quality assurance testing and analysis throughout the life cycle to all systems integration, software, database, and infrastructure changes.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain test plans and test scripts to make certain a high level of quality to all users and supporting infrastructure.
  • Understand full system architecture to set up and configure test environments for testing.
  • Perform functional, regression and system integration testing.


The ideal candidate has:
  • Minimum Years of Work Experience: 2+ years
  • Minimum Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology
  • Professional Information Technology experience working in the QA/Development Field
  • Experience in developing software in various programming languages such as Java, Python, Cucumber and HTML.
  • Relevant experience with various web technologies, such as content management systems, application servers, e-commerce platforms, etc.
  • Experience with Playwright for front end testing.
  • Hands on experience in engineering and/or testing.
  • Experience with automated test frameworks such as Cucumber.
  • End to end testing of applications.
  • Working knowledge of testing methodologies
  • Communication with users and engineers understanding bugs.
  • Familiarity with Agile frameworks.
  • Flexibility to fit within a small team, strong interpersonal and team skills are a must.

Our pay ranges are determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, role, experience, level, and location. The national new hire base pay range for this job in the United States is $93,500-$115,500. This range represents the minimum and maximum base pay the company expects to offer for new hires working in the position full time. If you live in one of the following areas or if you work in a Cboe office in the following areas, the range may be higher according to the geographic differentials listed below:

US Geographic Differentials:

  • 110%: Austin TX, Chicago IL, Denver CO, San Diego CA


  • 115%: Los Angeles CA, Seattle WA


  • 120%: Boston MA, Washington DC


  • 125%: New York City NY


  • 130%: San Francisco CA


Within the range, individual pay is determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
