About the position: Grand Erie Public Health (GEPH) is seeking a highly motivated candidate for a position of Health Planner to develop, implement, monitor and evaluate public health initiatives aimed at improving the quality and efficiency of programs, services and processes in the organization. In addition, the Health Planner will: work with a variety of GEPH interdisciplinary teams to support program, service and process improvements; liaise with community partners, build strong working relationships between them and GEPH; provide subject-matter expertise and resource support to GEPH colleagues and stakeholders as appropriate.

Qualifications and Competencies:
  • Master's degree in public health, community health, health sciences or another related discipline
  • Knowledge and experience (at least 2 years) in the following areas: the core public health functions (health promotion, health protection, and disease prevention), project management, policy development, community assessment, systematic evidence review, public health surveillance, research methods, health communication, and continuous quality improvement
  • Demonstrated experience in qualitative and quantitative data analysis and interpretation of population health data
  • Demonstrated experience in program evaluation
  • Demonstrated strong written/verbal communication skills, problem-solving skills, teamwork and group facilitation
  • Self-starter demonstrating initiative and with the ability to take appropriate action/direction
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team setting
  • Ability to provide non-judgmental and inclusive service to all clients
  • Valid Ontario driver's license and the use of a vehicle
  • Required to have full COVID-19 immunization and are able to provide evidence of status.


Terms and conditions of employment in accordance with the ONA Allied Collective Agreement.

Starting wage range: $40.31/hr - $48.75/hr. Opportunity to opt in to OMERS pension plan.
