Job Description:

FedEx Dataworks is seeking a driven, collaborative Data Analyst II to join our Data Science & Analytics Team. As an advanced analytics practitioner, you will leverage vast and varied data sets across our retailer and shipping networks to demonstrate the incremental value of our digital products, and to productize shipping optimization insights for FedEx customers. The ideal candidate will have robust technical data analytics skills and business acumen, with a passion for data storytelling, and cross-functional partnership.

Under general supervision, designs and implements processes and solutions associated with a wide variety of data sets used for data/text mining, analysis to enable informed business decisions. Gains insight into key business problems and deliverables by applying statistical analysis techniques to examine structured and unstructured data from multiple disparate sources. Uses current and emerging technologies to evaluate trends and develop actionable insights and recommendations to management, via an increasing understanding of the business model and the information available for analysis. Typically uses data, statistical and quantitative analysis, and fact-based management to drive decision- making.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Analytics, and Data Science teams to define requirements and develop curated data sets
  • Create intuitive, actionable Business Intelligence dashboard solutions for internal and external customers
  • Conduct deep-dive analyses into retailer and shipper performance and distill into clear, illuminating insights and recommendations. Share with stakeholders in succinct written or presentation format
  • Create and implement data governance standards, policies, and procedures
  • Evaluate current state metadata capture strategies and implement process improvements
  • Develop and implement strategies and solutions to remediate identified data management and data governance concerns
  • Evaluating and enforcing data governance standards across cloud analytics environments
  • Understanding and translating business definitions into fully classified descriptions while working closely with Data Stewards
  • Identifying and assessing data quality metrics
  • Clearly articulating data architecture/modeling techniques and concepts profiling data and derive context

Preferred Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
  • Proficient with SQL and/or other programming languages (R, Python) to extract and analyze data; strong understanding of relational databases
  • Advanced skill with Business Intelligence tools such as PowerBI, Looker, Tableau, etc., and robust experience implementing data visualization solutions
  • Excellent data storytelling skills; ability to concisely distill the insights and recommendations from complex analyses in an audience appropriate manner, such as external customers, senior leaders, and technical peers
  • Ability to translate an ambiguous customer request or business problem into an analysis plan
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Skills/ Knowledge Considered a Plus
  • Experience working with shipping, logistics, or supply chain data sets
  • Data modeling and statistical inference
  • Experience with Data Governance offerings such as: Collibra, Ab Initio, Purview or similar tools

Domicile Information:

This position can be domiciled anywhere in the United States. The ability to work remotely within the United States may be available based on business need.

Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, or a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, engineering, operations research, economics or Finance.

Minimum Experience

Two (2) years work experience in measurement and analysis, quantitative business problem solving, operations analysis, marketing analysis, simulation development and/or predictive analytics. Proficient in analytics software and applications.

Knolwedge, Skills and Abilities

Experience with Data Governance offerings such as: Collibra, Ab Initio, Purview or similar tools, Good interpersonal skills, Good written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors permitted by law. An employee may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential. The Company offers eligible employees health, vision and dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.

Pay: U.S Pay Range: $5,960.00 - $8,940.00 (Monthly)
