We are seeking an experienced PLC Programmer to join our team in Santa Clara, CA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in PLC programming and a deep understanding of various automation hardware and software. This role involves designing, configuring, and integrating control systems, with a focus on gas detection and chemical dispense control systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, configure, and integrate PLC systems, variable frequency drives, control, and communication networks, and other electrical hardware and software.
  • Provide setup and startup support for hardware and software related to PLCs and other automation devices.
  • Read and modify electrical control schematics and logic diagrams for program design, simulation, testing, and start-up.
  • Monitor, debug, and troubleshoot operational problems in PLC systems.
  • Specify, design, and build programs tailored to specific customer requirements.
  • Modify existing programs to meet customer needs and enhance system performance.
  • Provide guidance to Field Service Engineers in programming, repair, installation, and maintenance of PLC systems.
  • Select and configure additional automation devices, such as VFDs, for automation and control.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols in all programming and operational activities.
  • Serve as an advisor on technical matters and assist in the development of operating procedures.

Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in PLC programming.
  • Proficiency with multiple manufacturers' automation hardware and software, including but not limited to Allen Bradley, Automation Direct, G.E., Modicon, WonderWare, Indusoft, Ignition, and SCADA development.
  • Strong knowledge of reading and modifying electrical control schematics.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and standards.
  • Ability to create and read logic and flow diagrams for program design, simulation, and testing.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, vendors, and colleagues.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes.

Location: Santa Clara, CA

Salary: $95K - $110K (based on experience)

Job Type: Full-time, Direct Hire
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm
Work Environment: Potential for hybrid or work-from-home arrangements
