The Department of Corrections is currently recruiting to fill a Corrections Center Superintendent position. This position is based out of Robert E. Ellsworth Correctional Center in Union Grove, Wisconsin. This is a re-announcement; if you applied previously, you do not need to reapply.
Position Summary
Under the general supervision of the Wisconsin Women's Center System (WWCS) Warden, the Corrections Center Superintendent has overall responsibility for the operation and administration of the Robert E. Ellsworth Correctional Center (REECC). This position plans, organizes, and directs all activities of a complex multi-phased community centered minimum-security fenced facility, including security, education, treatment, rehabilitation and general service programs. This position promotes and maintains community liaison activities by developing a variety of community resources through community service projects, emergency government, police, judicial, and educational/ vocational resources.
Salary Information
This position is in pay schedule/range 81-02 with an annual salary of $99840 - $107848 plus excellent benefits. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. A 2-year Career Executive trial period is required.

The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.
The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.
This position is not eligible for remote work.

- Developing, implementing, and monitoring programs (e.g. education, social services, treatment, etc.) overall security plan, policies and procedures for a facility to ensure safety and continuous operations are in accordance with administrative rules, legal mandates, directives, policies and procedures
- Directing and supervising professional and/or non-professional staff (e.g. assigning, evaluating, supervising the work of others; hiring, firing, disciplining, training, monitoring etc.)
- Developing and implementing overall security plan, policies and procedures for a facility to ensure safety and security
In addition to the above, a well-qualified applicant will have experience:
- Managing or providing oversight of multiple business programs and support services (e.g. purchasing, budget, facility maintenance, information technology, etc.)
- Supervising or managing staff in a correctional setting
