Do you want to be at the intersection of Amazon Retail, AWS, and the development of eCommerce? Amazon seeks a Senior Finance Analyst to join the Stores Tech Finance FP&A team. This is an exciting and highly visible opportunity to interact with business and finance leaders across Stores Tech Finance. The Analyst will own the overall consolidation, analysis, synthesis and reporting of Stores Tech Finance financial performance to leadership and to Worldwide Amazon Stores. The role also includes defining metrics to run the business, creating solutions for process improvement and presenting documents for senior leadership reviews.
Key job responsibilities
Own the budgeting, planning, and reporting for Stores Tech Finance headcount and OpEx including modeling risks and opportunities and providing variance commentary.
Provide business level commentary, variance explanations, and business insights to Worldwide Amazon Stores
Partner with Finance Leads and the central technical development team to improve, standardize and automate the metrics, dashboards and reporting
Lead special projects to improve FP&A including designing dashboards for financial insight
Partner across Store Tech Finance to execute on the controls framework that feeds into SOX compliance.
Become the subject matter expert, train other employees, and provide single point of contact feedback to define roadmap and enhancements for headcount/OpEx tools including Roster and Assembly.
Drive the monthly capitalization of internal developed software across eCommerce Foundation.

We seek a Senior Finance Analyst with strong quantitative and financial skills, sound business judgment, the ability to solve complex problems, and effective verbal and written communication. The successful candidate will work across teams within tight deadlines, project manage the financial cycles, and consolidate financial commentaries to provide insights and tell the business story. The Analyst Manager will think and act quickly under pressure and manage multiple competing priorities effectively.

Stores Tech Finance shapes Amazon's investments in technology and innovation required to drive long term profitable growth and free cash flow as trusted financial advisors delivering controllership mechanisms and insights at scale across the Amazon Stores, Digital, and Other businesses (SDO). STF provides insights, planning, and controllership for the eCommerce Foundation (eCF), Shopping, and Stores Economics and Science team.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 4+ years of Accounts Receivable or Account Payable experience
- 4+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
- 4+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
- 4+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience
- Six Sigma Black Belt
- Experience with advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence
- Experience as a lean sensei, or experience working as a Quality Assurance Engineer
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Knowledge of Tableau
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
