Job Summary
Under direction of the Deputy Chief of Academics and in collaboration with other departments, the Executive Director of Professional Learning and Growth supervises and coordinates the planning, design, and implementation of coherent district training and development programs for school-based instruction and support staff which adheres to MNPS expectations and is aligned to the district's focused outcomes, strategic plan and performance goals. Leads a cross-functional design/implementation team to create a comprehensive professional development plan for the Division of Schools.

Starting At: $134,367.25
Salaries are determined by factors relevant to the position which may include education, experience, and other qualifications. Final compensation decisions are made at the discretion of MNPS in alignment with organizational policies and procedures. The stated salary range for certificated teaching positions is calculated based on 201 days and should be viewed as a reference. All provided salary ranges serve as a general guideline. What you will do
- Supports monthly PLN meetings for school principals and school leadership teams related to the district's goals and initiatives by creating agendas, resources and materials for use in facilitating principal professional growth.
- Creates a comprehensive, inclusive and creative professional development plan aimed at improving student performance and reviews/modifies plan annually to ensure it continues to meet the needs and goals of the district.
- Continuously seeks new programs, conferences, and activities, in both the public and private sector, which could be implemented to foster continuous improvement in MNPS schools.
- Organizes information and distributes professional development catalog for summer; collaborates with HR, Federal Programs and other departments to ensure adequate budgets exist and payroll processes are created and followed.
- In partnership with the Office of RAE, monitors the acquisition of identified competencies by teachers and school leaders and the impact of competency acquisition on employee performance and student growth.
- Collaborates with appropriate Academics division staff to align professional growth opportunities for school-based and central office staff to foster organizational alignment and commitment to systemwide goals.
- Works with all departments that impact academics as well as outside entities (i.e., colleges and universities) to develop a comprehensive professional development plan for the district.
- Serves as a project manager for special projects as needed.
- Acts a project lead to ensure content development and implementation/execution of annual required trainings. Prepares reports for division Chiefs to monitor compliance.
- Master's Degree in related field from an accredited institution Required
- At least 5 years of experience as a teacher and/or certificated administrator Required
- Principal/School Leadership training.
- Coaching and evaluating teachers and principals.
- Developing strategic professional learning plans to development the capacity of teachers, school leaders, and central office staff that has led to improved outcomes for students.
- Experience analyzing data, assessments and curriculum to determine standards, curriculum, pedagogical alignment, and the necessary focused/targeted PD.
- Tennessee School Administrator License Required
