In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the seamless operation and security of our network infrastructure. The rate for this position generally ranges between $66-99K annually. This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the New York Pay Transparency Law. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to enhancing our network capabilities.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or 2+ years in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in an administration role, overseeing network support and network engineering functions.
- Strong technical background with expertise in network engineering principles, methodologies, and tools.
- Hands on experience supporting systems such as: Windows Virtual Servers, VMware and Hyper-V Hosts, DFS, cloud-based applications and data storage, User Self-Service, SSO/MFA, Firewalls (Fortinet preferred), Switches, and Access Points.
- Experience with Security Best Practices, Panzura, FortiGate/FortiNet, Ubiquiti/Unifi, SolarWinds, Wireshark and HP Networking Equipment.
- Excellent team and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and customers.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Network+) are a plus.
CORE DUTIES
Network Security:
- Work with the Managed Services provider to implement and maintain security measures
to protect the integrity and confidentiality of data transmitted across the network. - Conduct regular security assessments and recommend improvements to address vulnerabilities. Working in conjunction with the IT Security Manager/Administrator.
Network Performance Optimization:
- Monitor and optimize network performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks or connectivity issues.
- Implement solutions for load balancing, redundancy, and high availability.
- Interact with ISP's if services are down or not running up to expected speed
- Implement new services as needed for office moves or openings.
Network Design and Implementation:
- Collaborate with internal and external project teams to design and implement scalable and reliable network solutions that meet project requirements.
- Ensure the integration of networking components within the overall architecture of projects.
Troubleshooting and Support:
- Provide technical support for network-related issues, diagnosing and resolving problems in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with IT support teams to address end-user connectivity issues.
Documentation:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Create network diagrams and contribute to project documentation.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with architects, engineers, and other professionals to ensure alignment with project goals.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to integrate networking requirements into overall project plans.
