What You Will Do
- Candidate will be responsible for developing machine specifications, managing suppliers of equipment and services (engineering, construction, etc.), and coordinating with customers to assure all production requirements are met.
- Candidate must ensure all safety and ergonomic requirements of human/machine interface are optimized
- Candidate will be expected to meet all project metrics of safety, quality, delivery, cost, and customer satisfaction
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams to oversee development and implementation of manufacturing facility projects across all project management phases
- Perform engineering oversight for design engineering disciplines: electrical, mechanical, electromechanical controls, and/or structural
- Reviews and estimates design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation, and other related costs
- Inspects or directs the inspection of construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules
- Directs work assignments of engineering service providers and contractors to design and construct shipyard facilities in a safe manner for production use
- Provide field engineering, field technical assessments, and contractor management during construction
- Provide manufacturing process engineering and technology development
- Control project costs and schedules
What You Must Have
- 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field
- Candidate must have experience with degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program in one of the following disciplines: Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, or Mechatronics
- Candidate must have experience in coordinating multi-trade projects including piping systems, controls, power, lighting, telecom, etc.
- Candidate must have experience with automating or improving a process using robotic or industrial automation systems
- Candidate must have experience with PLCs and ladder logic
- Candidate must have experience developing custom GUIs, HMI's, or other operator interfaces
- Candidate must have experience analyzing design engineering requirements documents and electrical, mechanical, and structural drawings
- Candidate must have strong project management, scheduling, and organizational skills
- Candidate must have strong leadership and communication skills
- Candidate must have strong computer skills - Windows and MS Office Suite
- Candidate must have the ability to work independently and be a part of cross-functional teams in accomplishment of complex tasks
- Candidate must have the ability to address technical, quality and business aspects of a project
- Candidate must have the ability to complete assigned tasks on schedule and within budget
- Candidate must have the ability to learn independently through your own research and experimentation
- Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance
Bonus Points For Having!
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience in shipyard or heavy industrial facilities.
- Familiarity with materials and processes in manufacturing
- Knowledge of National Building Codes, Plumbing Codes, Mechanical Codes, AISC, ACI, NEC, ASME, NFPA,AWS, and OSHA regulations is preferred
- Experience mentoring junior engineers and analysts
- Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) is preferred
