Position Overview:

This position is within IAC's Controller's Group based in New York City. This position is responsible for a wide variety of tasks including disclosure preparation, technical accounting policy development and maintenance, portfolio valuation and accounting (including fair value measurements and impairment testing).

The position partners with IAC's financial reporting and consolidations teams and interacts with the various accounting organizations across IAC's businesses on a daily basis and other functional areas within IAC including Internal and External Auditors, FP&A, M&A, Tax, Treasury and Legal.

The successful candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment with excellent written and verbal communication skills and must have experience with technical accounting research, evaluation, implementation and disclosure.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Technical Accounting
    • Develop, document, and maintain technical accounting memoranda and operational policies.
    • Serve as an internal technical accounting resource for the operating businesses to support key new or non-standard transactions and initiatives.
    • Research, evaluate and implement new technical accounting and financial reporting standards.
    • Present guidance and recommendations to management on the impact of new or proposed requirements.
    • Assist with implementation of these policies on an enterprise-wide basis.
    • Develop, challenge and implement new corporate accounting policies and procedures including the assessment of existing Corporate level SOX process narratives for adequacy and consistency.
  • Financial Analysis and Reporting
    • Assist the financial reporting and consolidations teams Form 10-Q and Form 10-K, including preparation of notes to the financial statements and related analyses.
    • Assist with internal portfolio investment valuation processes and accounting implications (including but not limited to ASC 321 adjustments, goodwill and intangible asset impairment testing and other fair value measurements).
  • Mergers and Acquisitions
    • Assist with due diligence of potential acquisitions.
    • Assist with pro-forma (SEC regulation S-X and ASC 805) financial statement preparation.
    • Assist with post-acquisition integration including compliance with enterprise-wide accounting policies and procedures.
  • Perform other ad hoc analyses and special projects as required.

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Big 4 Public Accounting or a combination of Big 4 and progressive Technical Accounting experience in a public company.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • CPA required.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Proficient in MS Office, including the ability to perform pivots and V-lookups with Excel.
  • Must be results driven with the ability to think and work independently in resolving challenging issues.
  • Must work well in a team setting and be able to foster enterprise-wide cooperation in adoption and compliance efforts.
  • Must be highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and changing priorities in a very fast-paced, challenging environment.
  • Must be articulate and confident in communication of ideas, issues, and resolutions to a broad audience (e.g. executive management, staff, internal and external auditors, etc.).
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters.

Salary Range: $130,000-$135,000

The base salary range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of IAC's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives.
