Job Summary:

Example of Duties:
Program-Level Oversight
- Collaborates with operations managers to develop, prepare, and implement safety policies, programs, and procedures.
- Oversees a team of Field Safety Coordinators, providing mentorship, guidance, and training to maintain consistency and a strong safety culture throughout the organization.
- Serves as the subject matter expert on safety topics, providing technical guidance to internal teams.
- Contributes to the development and review of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) involving safety planning and resource allocation.
- Stay up to date on industry standards and best practices.
- Works in unison with professional safety agencies and insurance carrier resources.
Compliance, Incident & Case Management
- Leads incident and case management activities, including oversight of employee injury cases and coordination with relevant stakeholders to ensure timely reporting and resolution.
- Oversees incident reporting and leads investigations of accidents, near-misses, and claims to ensure thorough documentation and continuous improvement.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules.
- Ensures completion of required OSHA recordkeeping and reporting.
Customer Engagement & Field Representation
- Coordinates customer-facing safety needs, including engagement, oversight of reporting, and incident response coordination.
- Participates in field activities, including attendance at events, training sessions, on-site engagement, and quality assurance efforts. Supports customer safety initiatives and represents the company in safety-related forums and meetings.
Training & Safety Processes
- Organizes and may conduct employee training on applicable safety and security standards.
- Reviews internal safety training programs and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates.
- Develops processes and procedures for safety inspections and audits to assess employee compliance with safety regulations.
General Oversight
- Stops operations and activities that could harm employees or equipment.
- Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
- May be assigned to work on special projects as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Knowledge of OSHA and Cal/OSHA regulations, with experience managing worker injury cases.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable using modern workplace technologies to support documentation, communication, and safety reporting systems; familiarity with ISNetworld is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to develop policies, procedures, and training materials that support safety compliance and education.
- Skilled in performing administrative and analytical tasks in support of occupational safety programs.
- Able to supervise and coordinate the work of geographically dispersed safety staff.
- Effective at managing timelines and coordinating tasks to meet safety-related deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with strong documentation and recordkeeping practices.
- Works independently with minimal direction.
- Exercises tact and deals effectively with others.
- Understands and carries out oral and written instructions.
- Establishes and maintains effective relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

Experience/Education:
- At least five years of occupational health and safety experience in an industrial environment required, preferably in the electrical distribution and transmission industry.
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in Health and Safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, or a closely related field is highly desirable.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Certification in health and safety leadership; Certified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP) preferred.
- OSHA 30 required.
- Possession of a valid California driver's license, Class C, with the ability to maintain insurability under the company's insurance carrier is required.
