About You
Are you a construction leader who can provide strategic direction and operational leadership? We are looking for Vice President of Construction who will oversee project management, field operations, safety compliance, and workforce development. The VP of Construction will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. As a key executive, the VP will report to the President and collaborate with senior leadership at Mullins Mechanical and Kelso Industries to drive growth operational excellence, and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a strategic vision for the construction division, aligning with Mullins Mechanical's growth objectives.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and industry partners to drive business growth and project opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to identify new market opportunities, service offerings, and operational improvements.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance profitability, efficiency, and scalability within the construction division.
  • Oversee the execution of all construction projects, ensuring adherence to budgets, timelines, and contractual obligations.
  • Implement best practices in project management, scheduling, and resource allocation to optimize performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement in construction methodologies, workforce productivity, and cost control.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain top construction talent, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for project managers, superintendents, and field teams.
  • Promote collaboration across departments, including estimating, engineering, and procurement, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Champion a safety-first culture, ensuring strict adherence to OSHA and company safety protocols.
  • Implement and monitor quality control measures to uphold the integrity of workmanship and client satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular site visits to evaluate project progress, identify risks, and resolve challenges proactively.

Qualifications
  • 15+ years of experience in construction management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Extensive expertise in mechanical contracting, industrial piping, HVAC, or related construction fields.
  • Strong knowledge of project management, budgeting, scheduling, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale projects and driving operational improvements.
  • Experience in business development, contract negotiation, and client relationship management.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage diverse teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field (preferred).
