This role reports into the above mentioned office, however NORR offers all of its employees the opportunity to work either from home or from a NORR office. This position requires the individual to be within commuting distance from our NORR Philadelphia office to attend site visits and client meetings.

We are currently seeking a motivated and highly collaborative Principal focused on Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis on building systems. As a Principal, you will have overall responsibility for the growth, management, and profitability of the sector. You will lead the strategic direction from a regional perspective and liaise with other regional and global leaders to collaborate on initiatives. You will prepare annual forecasts based on the market climate and objectives of the sector, make adjustments throughout the year as necessary and report on their results on a regular basis to senior management.
Responsibility for acquiring work with fees totaling more than $1M are typical for this level.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Pursues new business acquisition through personal and new client contacts; prepares and presents client proposals
- Recommends and implements changes to corporate quality control procedures and policies as required
- Research and sources new systems, materials, and resources; analyzes processes, procedures, and working practices to identify and implement changes to increase efficiency, quality, and overall profitability
- Ensures appropriate coordination and communications within studios in collaboration with Studio Managers
- Recommends best practices and identifies opportunities for future project profitability and quality
- Routinely reviews all work for conformance to design, technical and quality to ensure all requirements are met
- Supports the project teams throughout all phases of the project to ensure a high level of service and support to the client
- Provides expert advice and recommendations to resolve complex, technical or unusual design issues or concerns
Required Skills
- Education: Bachelors of Science in Engineering
- Technical: Architectural and Design software skills, including Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp and Photoshop
- Leadership: Indirect
- Knowledge: Architectural design and presentation; intermediate M&E, structural building systems, permit and building codes
- Certificates, Licensing, Registrations: Membership with a relevant professional association is an asset
Required Experience
- 15+ years' experience
- Salary Range: $140,000.00 - $200,000.00 /annually
