Job Title: X-Ray Technician (0-2 Years Experience) - Contract

Location: New York, NY

Department: Corporate Clerical - Non-Union Radiology

Compensation: $45-$75 (depending on the experience)

Job Summary:

The X-Ray Technologist will perform diagnostic radiologic procedures, ensure patient comfort and safety while maintain compliance with all applicable regulations. This role supports the clinical team in delivering high-quality imaging services and patient care in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build rapport with patients to reduce anxiety and explain procedures clearly.
  • Prepare and position patients for radiologic exams, ensuring proper use of immobilization devices and exposure settings.
  • Operate imaging equipment while applying radiation protection techniques for both patients and staff.
  • Follow all infection control standards and maintain clean, safe workspaces.
  • Process and review images, adjusting techniques to ensure diagnostic quality.
  • Document all procedures and patient interactions thoroughly in medical records.
  • Conduct routine equipment checks, coordinate repairs, and manage inventory of radiologic supplies.
  • Stay current with continuing education requirements and participate in ongoing professional development.
  • Contribute to departmental goals and support team operations as needed.
  • Complete annual Age-Specific Competency training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology

Licensure:
  • New York State Licensed Radiologic Technologist (L.R.T.)
  • Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

Skills & Competencies:
  • Entry-level; 0-2 years of experience required
