Summary
The Senior Manager - Ocean Carrier Services position will manage outbound and inbound vessel operations on U.S. East and Gulf Coast. As the Team Leader this position will coordinate all operational items within the region, from both a vessel and terminal side. The position further manages support functions to the operations such as maritime service supplier and regulatory compliance matters.

Compensation Range
$115,000-$131,000 per year (Subject to Compensation Study Upon Candidate Selection)

Summary
The Senior Manager - Ocean Carrier Services position will manage outbound and inbound vessel operations on U.S. East and Gulf Coast. As the Team Leader this position will coordinate all operational items within the region, from both a vessel and terminal side. The position further manages support functions to the operations such as maritime service supplier and regulatory compliance matters.
Responsibilities
- Manage the Operations team and operate all vessels with efficiency- thru the USEC and US Gulf ports
- Oversee and review established SOPs, as needed
- Create vessel schedules based on known criteria and distribute to all necessary parties
- Create / maintain detailed working plans based on vessel, port, and cargo characteristics and constraints
- Plan, organize, or manage the work of subordinate staff to ensure that the work is accomplished in a manner consistent with organizational requirements
- Prepare staff work schedules and assign specific duties
- Communicate clearly with vessels, Glovis Korea Operators and commercial entities to insure all are informed of vessel schedules and any delays that may occur
- Cost Management
- Insure that all customers are billing as per the contract - Work with Stevedores and Terminals to find efficiencies in our current operations
- Work with Cost Management team in Irvine to create reports so that we can track and understand all costs - Find creative solutions to reduce our costs
- Tender Management
- Oversee all operational based contracts, stevedores, terminals, port authority, tugs and agents
- Business Development
- Review established Maritime Service performance
- Seek improvements, alternates, or create new possibilities for Maritime Services
- Study possibilities for improving supplier performance
- Report results and make recommendations Utilize an objective measuring system to review supplier performance in the area if use
Compensation Range
$115,000-$131,000 per year (Subject to Compensation Study Upon Candidate Selection)

Skills & Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient level PC Skills
- Basic knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Experience using database management systems is highly preferred
- Strong ability to identify and correct errors
- Detail oriented with ability to work in deadline-driven environment
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in fast paced environment is preferred
Education & Experience
- Bachelors Degree Required
- Masters Degree Preferred
- 8 - 12 Years of Direct Experience Required
- 10 - 15 Years of Related Experience Preferred
- Ocean Carrier Services and/or International Import/Export Experience Preferred
- 7 - 10 Years of Supervisory Experience Required
- Specialized Trade Training Preferred
- HAZMAT Training Certificate Preferred
