About the Role
As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll design and scale Anon's enterprise data migration platform-helping companies transfer customer data between platforms seamlessly and securely, even when APIs are limited or unavailable. You'll build the infrastructure that powers automated extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) workflows, secure authentication, and robust data flows across diverse systems.
This is a deeply technical, high-impact role where you'll own critical features end-to-end, shape our architecture, and collaborate across product and engineering teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences.

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll design and scale Anon's enterprise data migration platform-helping companies transfer customer data between platforms seamlessly and securely, even when APIs are limited or unavailable. You'll build the infrastructure that powers automated extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) workflows, secure authentication, and robust data flows across diverse systems.

Responsibilities
Builder Mindset & Ownership
- Design and maintain APIs that are reliable, secure, and developer-friendly
- Own projects from architecture through deployment and monitoring
- Proactively identify and resolve performance, reliability, and security issues
- Develop scalable APIs that power our SDKs
- Build proxy systems and networking features (e.g. traffic inspection, protocol-level manipulation)
- Create and maintain data pipelines on GCP, AWS, or similar cloud platforms
- Contribute to authentication protocols, session management, and security infrastructure
- Integrate with vendors across authentication, DevOps, and database services
- Ensure backwards compatibility and API versioning for enterprise users
- Partner with customers to troubleshoot and support technical integration efforts
- Work cross-functionally with frontend and product teams to deliver cohesive features
- 5-8 years of experience building robust backend systems
- Expertise in complex platform and SDK architecture
- Strong knowledge of Node.js, TypeScript, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, and Docker
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP) and CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions)
- Familiarity with authentication, data security, and systems design
- A builder mindset with a bias for ownership and end-to-end execution
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup environment with high autonomy

- Compensation: $160,000-$220,000
- Equity: 0.3% - 0.5%
