Transportation Engineer

Job Description

Location: Columbus, OH
Pay Range: $72,000 - $90,000/year (Direct) or $34.62 - $43.27/hour (Contract)

We're seeking a skilled Transportation Engineer to join a growing team in Columbus, Ohio. This is a 6-month contract-to-direct hire opportunity with a focus on designing and managing transportation infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities:

• Lead transportation design, including calculations, reports, plans, and roadway modeling.
• Coordinate with project managers and leadership to ensure budget, schedule, and project tracking.
• Prepare proposals and preliminary project evaluations.
• Collaborate with public agencies and other firms during project coordination.
• Support Ohio and regional offices on infrastructure projects.

Requirements:

• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Ohio (or Indiana).
• Proficiency in MicroStation and Bentley Open Roads Designer.
• 5+ years of transportation project design experience (ODOT or INDOT projects preferred).
• Strong communication and leadership skills; project management experience is a plus.
• Must reside and be eligible to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (ABET accredited).
• Experience working on ODOT, county, and municipal projects.
• Familiarity with Adobe and Microsoft Office Suite.

Details:

• Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM.
• Onsite position with occasional travel (10%).
• Business casual attire.
