Position Summary:
This Director, Billing will serve as the Billing process owner and is responsible for ensuring precise, and timely invoice execution, as well as data-driven insights which measures our customer's overall billing-related experience. This role will maintain and enhance policies, procedures, and implement standard processes, controls, workflows, as well as reporting tools. These efforts aim to reduce billing errors, minimize customer disputes and enhance customer satisfaction. This role will lead a cross-functional team focused on creating enhanced and scalable end-to-end solutions to metrics related to efficiency, effectiveness, and customer satisfaction. This position requires a detail-oriented leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has the ability to start and implement new processes from scratch, collaborates effectively across departments, and is dedicated to continuous improvement.
Essential Functions:
Data Analysis & Reporting:
Assist with defining and implementing a billing scorecard to monitor overall health of the billing process and identify opportunities to optimize. Understands industry-wide best practices and identify continuous improvement initiatives to ensure AmeriGas is maintaining customer satisfaction and achieving operational efficiencies.

Essential Functions:
- Billing Leadership: Develop and implement standard billing procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy of issued invoices. Develop training documents for AmeriGas employees to ensure proper execution and understanding of billing processes, actions, and ultimate impacts to customers.
- Governance & Compliance: Establish policies and controls to ensure adherence to SOX, GAAP, and applicable state regulatory requirements.
- Process Optimization: Identify current state and outlines future state goals, targets, processes, and workflows to enhance overall standard processes to eliminate inefficiencies while driving improvements using best practices.
- Collaboration: Partner with stakeholders (i.e. Operations, Customer Service, IT, Sales, Pricing and Accounting) to optimize the billing workflow.
- Org Development: Assist with the design of a scalable organizational structure with clearly defined roles and responsibilities to align teams performing related work in efforts to create one consistent and standard process and workflow.
- Issue Resolution: Understand customer feedback to develop strategies to reduce billing-related call volumes and improve dispute resolution.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience leading a billing function in a services industry, risk management, finance and internal controls.
- Excellent technical and analytical skills as evidenced through ability to think creatively and develop new solutions that meet business targets and needs.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (both oral and written) skills.
- Ability to work productively and constructively in a collaborative team environment.
- Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to manage department improvement projects from inception to completion.
- Strong change management and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree (Management, Economics, Accounting, Engineering or Finance); MBA preferred.
- 10+ years' experience in Billing, Accounts Receivable, revenue operations
- Experience with SAP ECC, BillTrust, IFS and CRM.
- Strong leadership experience, including process design and cross functional collaboration.
