General Information

The Technology Services department is looking to hire a full-time, 12 Month, Licensed Specialist, Campus Instructional Support.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Student Information Support Specialist provides district, school, and individual level student information system, and instructional support to staff, including functionality related to reporting, teacher tools, grade book, course scheduling, academic standards, transcripts, graduation planning, assessment and course registration. This role plans and facilitates educational technology training to educators, administrators and staff to achieve instructional technology integration.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Works under the Supervisor of Academic Services in Technology Services.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in any field where the applicant has held a teaching license, Management
Information Systems, Computer Science.
Must hold valid teaching license issued by the Minnesota Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB).
Five years of experience working in a K-12 educational environment which must include experience using Infinite Campus products.
Equivalent combinations of education and/or experience will be considered.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Successful teaching, counseling or administrative experience.
Experience in creating and/or working with a master schedule.
Experience in coaching and delivering professional development and training.
Experience in developing online learning modules, through systems such as Moodle or Blackboard.
An understanding of current curriculum and instructional reform approaches including Personalized Learning.
Experience in integrating technology into instructional design, assessment practices, and classroom management.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential job functions include, but are not limited to, the following fundamental responsibilities:

Instructional Support
Develop and provide district and direct on-site instruction and support to teachers, counselors and schedulers on PreK-12 instructional functionalities: curriculum and standards, grading and assessment.
Support educators and staff in implementing instructional technology best practices through PD and coaching; supports include personalized learning, mastery and standards-based grading.
Act as liaison between SPPS schools and departments regarding SIS and LMS instructional functionalities.
Assist in the technical development and logistics of SPPS scheduling and grading to implement learning solutions that fit within district hardware and software infrastructure.
Work with Technology Services to report and resolve technical issues.
Collaborate with other district departments regarding behavior, instructional practices, grading and assessment reporting.
Monitor and ensure adherence to quality standards for SIS and LMS operations, including privacy laws, state regulations, and SPPS policies.
Establish successful working relationships with district and school staff, vendors, and outside agencies.

Miscellaneous
Meet the training and information needs of teachers, counselors and schedulers regarding SIS and LMS usage.
Assist in the documentation regarding SIS and LMS functions, operating procedures, and the dissemination of updates to users.
Contributes to the District's Strong Schools, Strong Communities efforts by partnering with other staff to contribute to student achievement and the alignment and sustainability of resources.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of training and professional development needs of adult learners and effective professional development models.
A strong understanding of the methods, approaches, and strategies educators use to plan student learning experiences and assessments Proficiency with Macintosh and Windows computers.
Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.
Ability to assist schools with problem solving.
Ability to take direction, prioritize, and think proactively and systemically.
Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with school district employees, families, students, and representatives and the public.
Skillful collaborator and team builder.
Ability to follow and to issue complex written and oral instructions.

WORK SCHEDULE, PAY, AND BENEFITS
This is a 12-month position working 40 hours per week.

Pay range for this position is: $69,331 - $124,769
Maximum hiring step = step eleven (11)
