Responsibilities:
T he Director of Learning Operations and Governance Lead is responsible for developing and implementing global L&D strategies that ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and support operational excellence across all established and new sites. This role involves overseeing governance frameworks, supporting inspections, and ensuring that global processes are effectively implemented locally. The ideal candidate will be a strategic, visionary leader with exceptional communication skills and the ability to drive and lead a high-performing team.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate's education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$122,250 - $179,300
Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance). Key Responsibilities
Governance and Compliance
- Develop frameworks that ensure learning meets regulatory standards and company policies at all sites - new and established.
- Monitor compliance, identify gaps and drive improvements.
Inspection Support and Readiness
- Lead prep and support for inspections to ensure records and processes are audit and inspection ready.
- Collaborate with site leaders to address inspection findings related to training and implement sustainable solutions.
Global Process Implementation
- Standardize and harmonize L&D processes across all sites - supporting new and established operations.
- Direct local teams to harmonize with global strategies and guarantee effective implementation.
Leadership and Team Development
- Build and mentor a high-performing team that supports both established and new sites.
- Set clear expectations and hold teams accountable for delivering with consistency, ownership and a standard of performance excellence.
Strategic Planning and Execution
- Work with partners to develop L&D strategies that align with enterprise goals, suitable for both new and existing sites.
- Use data to assess training impact and drive ongoing improvements.
Communication and Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as the primary liaison between the CoE and site leadership, ensuring alignment and clear communication of L&D initiatives across all sites.
- Promote the value of L&D with collaborators at all levels to build advocacy and secure resources.
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree minimum.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Learning & Development, Talent Development, Manufacturing Training with a focus on regulated environments.
- Qualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Lilly will not provide support for or sponsor work authorization and/or visas for this role
Additional Skills/Preferences:
- Master's degree preferred, in Instructional Systems Technology, Performance Technology, Adult Learning, Human Resources, or related experience/education
- Strong knowledge of GMP, compliance, and regulatory standards in manufacturing.
- Confirmed experience leading L&D teams and handling audit and inspection readiness.
- Skilled in learning technologies, AI-driven tools, and data-informed training design.
- Ability to lead through complexity, influence across levels, and drive outcomes.
- Strong cross-functional teamwork, discernment, and communication.
- HPI or CPTD certification desired.
