Position Overview
Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, you will be a key member of the product team, instrumental to developing and executing a merchandising strategy aligned to the company's business goals during a critical period of growth. The Merchandising Manager will be a hands-on retail leader who directly builds, implements, and optimizes product lines while fostering innovation and driving sales performance during the next phase of company expansion in an entrepreneurial, high-growth environment.
Core Responsibilities:

Merchandising Strategy
  • Develop and own comprehensive merchandising strategy across direct-to-consumer and wholesale retail channels
  • Work with Licensing group to effectively curate across both Licensed and owned products
  • Roll up your sleeves to personally implement and execute best practice processes for product development, inventory management, and sales analysis
  • Create and maintain product roadmaps, seasonal collections, and standard operating procedures, driving collaboration with partners and sponsors
  • Lead day-to-day merchandising operations and streamline product workflows, sales reporting, and vendor management
  • Ensure optimal performance across all product lines through data-driven decision making
  • Design, develop, and/or implement merchandising solutions as needed (and/or directly manage external resources on these activities)

Product Development, Design, and Engagement
  • Create, develop, and lead Dude Perfect's product lines from concept to retail
  • Oversee design processes and secure design approvals internally while ensuring partners follow DP design guidelines
  • Develop and oversee strategies to enhance product quality, customer satisfaction, and brand loyalty through merchandise
  • Partner with business and creative teams to define product requirements and ensure efficient development processes
  • Implement and refine structured product testing, sales optimization, and customer feedback frameworks
  • Ensure exceptional product quality across all Dude Perfect merchandise
  • Manage external manufacturing partners, retail relationships, and internal inventory systems
  • Oversee and improve sales performance tracking, including KPIs, analytics, and review processes
  • Develop and execute merchandise innovation programs to stay ahead of retail trends and customer expectations

Coordination with Content and Talent
  • Manage Talent wardrobe and ensure use of in-stock product during content creation
  • Partner with ecommerce partners to ensure Talent is wearing products that are featured for special drops, available on the website, etc.
  • Coordinate product placement and CTAs in content to drive merchandise visibility and sales
  • Work with content teams to develop merchandise tie-ins with upcoming content themes and initiatives
  • Ensure consistent brand representation across talent appearances and merchandise offerings
  • Develop systems for tracking product appearances in content and corresponding sales impacts
  • Create efficient workflows for talent product selection and wardrobe management

Retail Ownership and Revenue
  • Own and manage all in-house and partner retail operations, including e-commerce (owned D2C and Amazon), pop-up experiences, wholesale accounts, and emerging retail opportunities
  • Drive our merchandising monetization strategies and initiatives, brand collaborations, and revenue diversification
  • Spearhead new product development and retail enhancements to maximize fan engagement and sales
  • Partner with company leaders to align our merchandising strategy to progressing the strategic and operational roadmaps, priority company initiatives, and special projects
  • Quickly develop and nurture positive working relationships with department leaders and other key stakeholders
  • Actively build and develop merchandise programs hands-on while the team scales, functioning as a "doer" rather than just a manager
Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of progressive merchandising experience across product development, retail operations, and sales analytics/optimization
  • Proven track record as a retail doer who can directly develop and implement merchandising solutions
  • Experience in apparel, sporting goods, branded merchandise, and/or entertainment retail
  • Passion for sports and knowledge of the sports retail landscape a plus
  • Degree in fashion merchandising, retail management, or related field a plus
  • Strong hands-on product development skills, with willingness to be the primary merchandising resource during team build-out
  • Extensive experience designing, implementing, and executing operational retail processes directly
  • Strong knowledge of product sourcing, inventory management, and retail best practices
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and thrives managing several projects, deadlines and stakeholders in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Enjoys taking an analytical approach to retail initiatives, including analyzing and drawing insights from sales data sets
  • Transparent and effective oral and written communicator; comfortable communicating both concisely with executive audiences and in-detail with tactical audiences
  • Interacts well with internal colleagues at all levels and across all business functions
  • Results-oriented, gritty, resourceful, and organized team player with the highest of ethical standards

Location: This position is located onsite at the all-new Dude Perfect HQ3 offices in Frisco, Texas (Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex). Remote candidates will not be considered for this position.
