Emergency Medicine Residency Program Director and Emergency Medicine Chair

Job Summary:
The Emergency Medicine Residency Program Director will be responsible for teaching, research and service activities as they are related to the EM Residency Program here at Magnolia Regional Health Center. As the EMR Program Director, they will develop, plan, organize, supervise and coordinate EM activities. Be familiar with and ensure that accreditation standards for training are met or exceeded. As the EM Chair, they will provide oversight and assist with the development of the emergency department's goals and direction.
This position is also responsible for advancing the goals of MRHC with regard to quality, safety, patient satisfaction, operations and other key performance indicators, as well as financial targets within the service area. The position is also responsible for training clinical staff, preparing and delivering initial and periodic appraisals, and initiating performance improvement initiatives. In this position one must be prepared to deal with evolving integrated healthcare delivery systems, technological innovations, and an increasingly complex regulatory environment.
Position must devote sufficient time to the educational program to fulfill their supervisory and teaching responsibilities and demonstrate a strong interest in the education of residents.
Educational Requirements:
Must be a graduate of an accredited emergency medicine residency program. Must be MRHC Medical staff approved.
Certification/Licensure Requirements:
Must have a current board certification to practice as a physician. Have current ACLS and BLS certifications and licensure with the State of Mississippi.

- They will administer and maintain an educational environment conducive to educating residents in each of the ACGME competency areas; provide advice to residents in the areas of educational goal-setting, career planning, patient care, and scholarships; and, meet professional standards of behavior
- Assist with teaching, research and service activities as they relate to the Magnolia Regional Health Center
- Defines appropriate clinical responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, cost-effective, Emergency Medicine
