Why does the job exist?

The IT Application Developer III / System Integration Module Owner serves as the key technical and product leader for the System Integration (SI) module and its platform, which is an essential part of the HCA's data-driven IT ecosystem.

The IT Application Developer III / System Integrator Platform Module Owner will:
  • Manage the product backlog, prioritizing features, and ensuring the SI module delivers value while aligning with HCA's strategic goals;
  • Require strong collaboration with stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional teams to drive product development and integration;
  • Act as the Product Owner for the SI module, guiding its development and ensuring it delivers value to the organization;
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in key system integration areas, including web services, APIs, data mappings, data transformation, MFT, and ICAM technologies and;
  • Coordinate communication and collaboration between the SI vendor, stakeholders, and other module vendors to ensure that integration work aligns with business and technical needs.

The IT Application Developer III / System Integrator Platform Module Owner is responsible for:
  • Defining and aligning the product vision for the SI module with HCA's IT strategy, ensuring integration requirements deliver high business value;
  • Oversight and managing the product backlog, prioritizing features and integration needs to meet business objectives and security standards;
  • Coordinating with the SI vendor and other stakeholders to ensure clear communication, effective vendor management, and seamless system integration;
  • Facilitating technical documentation, testing, and release planning while monitoring vendor performance to ensure quality, timelines, and compliance and;
  • Collaborating with the Project Manager to stay within budget and timeline constraints, adjusting priorities as needed to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate has:
  • Experience leading technical teams in product development and integration, managing product backlogs and prioritizing features to align with strategic goals;
  • Experience overseeing system integration efforts, including web services, APIs, data mappings, and ICAM technologies, coordinating with vendors and cross-functional teams;
  • Managed vendor performance to ensure adherence to technical, security, and quality standards while maintaining timelines;
  • Experience acting as Product Owner, defining vision, setting priorities, and aligning with organizational objectives while collaborating with project managers to meet budget and deadlines and;
  • The ability to ensure compliance with IT security standards during integration, while facilitating clear communication between technical and non-technical teams.


Minimum Qualification

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology, Engineering, or similar technical degree and four (4) years of experience in software programming. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling eight (8) years may substitute for the required education and experience.

Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.

Must obtain a Defensive Driving Certificate.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT), extensive personal computer and phone usage. Travel statewide is required.
