Transportation Operations Manager- Fort Johnson, Louisiana

Directly responsible for the day-to-day operations of the installation transportation division effort on Fort Johnson and AR 5-9 Area of Responsibilities. You must have at least 10 years of documented supervisory experience in a transportation related field. Must have a comprehensive knowledge of governing regulations, policies, procedures and instructions in DoD air and ground transportation, working knowledge in areas of personal property, unit movement, materiel movement, and transportation motor pool operations. Needs to have the ability to provide information and reports, resolve issues and recommend actions to improve delivery of services to the customers. Must have skills in verbal and written communications to conduct meetings, evaluate plans, and prepare reports, plans, and working instructions. The national defense strategy of the United States requires a strong Defense Transportation System (DTS), operating within a national transportation system that is fully responsive and globally capable of meeting personnel and materiel movement requirements of the Department of Defense across the range of military operations. This strategy requires that an optimum mix be achieved that matches defense requirements with the various modes and methods of transportation, both military and commercial. The Transportation Operations Manager will also be required to attend/participate in classified briefings.

Required Experience: Must have at least 10 years of documented supervisory experience in a transportation-related field. Strong knowledge and experience in the following areas:

GSA Management

Transportation Motor Pool

Unit Moves operations (Rail, Air, Ground, Sea)

Personal Property Operations

Passenger Movement Operations

Proficient in the following Software:

Defense Transportation System (DTS)

Windows 10

Microsoft Excel

Microsoft Office 2010 or later

Data Entry and ability to type

Minimum Education: 2-year higher education or Military equivalent

All Contractor personnel performing work under this contract must complete a favorable background investigation and be eligible to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Common Access Card (CAC).
