Responsibilities*
- Performs a variety of engineering work in planning and design of the various mechanical systems used in healthcare facilities. These systems include HVAC, plumbing, medical gas and fire protection systems. Coordination, and/or participation in the preparation of estimates, and/or plans and specifications for several concurrent new building, building renovation, and/or infrastructure upgrade projects. Able to put together a set of Construction Documents (CDs) for execution by turnkey or bid & award construction process. Such projects may be single discipline or multi-discipline.
- Works with and manages external architectural/ engineering consultants in the design and construction industry. Review and comment upon completed construction document packages, studies, and other such planning documents.
- Has troubleshooting involvement in, and coordination with, the operation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems; including air handling systems, chiller and heating plants, plumbing and medical gas systems and other specialty mechanical systems.
- Responsible for participating in professional engineering committees to establish design guideline requirements for the institution.
Required Qualifications*
Intermediate Level
- Bachelor's degree in a recognized field of science or learning which is directly related to the duties of the position
- 1-3 years of professional experience
- Candidate should have excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Familiarity with all normally encountered office automation software (Microsoft products, email, etc.).
Associate Level:
- Entry level for employees with Bachelor Degree or equivalent
- 0-1 years of professional experience
Desired Qualifications*
- 1-3 years' experience as a Mechanical Engineer in the planning, design and construction of mechanical systems within commercial/ institutional facilities.
- A Professional Engineer license, or track to becoming licensed.
- AutoCAD design experience is desired.
