Description

As a Ground Fluid Systems Engineer, you will lead the development, design, build, and commissioning of ground fluid systems at Long Wall to support tests, operations, and launches. You will have the opportunity to be a key member of a small team of mechanical, fluid, and electrical engineers working to develop innovative deployable launch solutions that enable the rapid deployment of Long Wall launch and test systems. This is a role that contributes to every mission and every flight we fly as we continue to reimagine the future of missile defense systems.

What we look for
    • Mission-Driven Problem Solvers. The aerospace frontier demands ingenuity. We want engineers who approach challenges with curiosity, embrace failure as a learning opportunity, and stay focused on delivering the best solution for the mission.
    • Total Ownership. We seek engineers who take full responsibility for delivering flight-ready work while recognizing that no one succeeds alone. The best engineers make their teammates better, knowing that complementary skills create force multiplication and drive mission success.

Responsibilities
    • Take full ownership for designing ground fluid systems from clean sheet design, through commissioning
    • Perform fluid system sizing and analysis using hand calculations, custom scripts, and more advanced analysis packages
    • Develop fluid and pneumatic systems to support RSX ground operations that comply with Long Wall, Test Site and Range requirements. Work with mechanical and electrical engineers to ensure clean cross functional design
    • Develop test plans for ground fluid systems, and lead ATP/checkouts testing to verify functionality. Inclusive of planning, documentation, and execution of test campaigns
    • Lead the development of internal standard manufacturing/integration processes (fabrication, inspection, etc.) that comply with Long Wall, Test Site and Range requirements and deliver quality ground fluid systems
    • Create and present internal technical documentation that clearly conveys design intent, adherence to standards, requirements, and specifications
    • Prepare and effectively deliver technical regulatory documentation to support launch site deployments, system level checkout operations, and flight license approval
    • Manage project's schedule, compliance with internal and external requirements, budget, milestones, and track status
    • Interface with technicians to coordinate builds, logistics, support, and requirements
    • Mentor other engineers and technicians on the team

    • Experience using fluid components
    • Experience routing fluid and electrical systems in complex assemblies
    • Experience working across engineering groups to define requirements and implement solutions
    • Demonstrated ability utilizing CAD design software (e.g. NX, CATIA, CREO/PRO-E)
    • Experience working with high-pressure systems
    • Experience working with modeling tools like GFSPP or similar
    • Experience working with cryogenic fluid systems
    • Understanding of manufacturing processes and GD&T
    • Experience with Teamcenter or other PLM system
