Job Description and Profile
The telecom professional engineer is responsible for designing telecom projects from conceptual design through construction administration. This process includes understanding the wireless telecom/EV industry including the technical aspects of wireless telecom/EV and the application of wireless telecom/EV in the built environment. The position is responsible for quality control of all design projects involved in wireless telecom/EV including as well as coordinating efforts between departments such as structural, electrical, mechanical, and civil. This position works in conjunction with project managers and has direct involvement with budgeting, client relations, establishing deadlines, and assisting in directing the work of technical staff.

Reports to: Director of Telecom
Duties and Responsibilities
- Direct project design including: applicable building codes and land use codes, current with alternative materials, creative designs for clients, identify needs of other disciplines such as structural, HVAC, electrical and plumbing, review projects for quality control/quality assurance prior to issuance to client, present projects to clients and at public hearings, provide design concept for client review and approval, provide technical support to design staff in the implementation of the approved design concept.
- Gather wireless telecom/EV existing field condition information via hand sketches, measurements (GPS, tape, range finder laser, micrometer, wheel) and photos, including photosim candidate photos.
- Provide engineering designs that meet all codes as required.
- Sketch on your feet in front of clients offering viable design solutions.
- Create, with other team members, construction drawings of wireless telecom/EV standardized and custom design projects, including pre-manufactured modular building and equipment support systems associated with telecom/EV facilities.
- Participate in the architectural design process, develop alternative solutions and presentation graphics used to communicate concepts to the client or for agency approval.
Education, Experience, Qualifications
- Licensed to sign and stamp telecom/EV plans.
- 2 years' minimum work in telecommunications/EV preferred.
- Construction field experience preferred.
- Possess the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Can handle a heavy workload in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work with and direct engineering team members on all levels.
Physical Considerations
- Ability to operate standard office equipment, such as personal computer, printer, copy machine, telephone and calculator.
- Work activities involve the combination of sitting for longer periods and intermittent standing/walking.
- Some outdoor work is required in the inspection of various developments and construction/job sites.
