This role fosters a culture of continuous learning, enabling data-driven teams to implement governance effectively while improving user experience and operational efficiency.

As the bridge between data capability authoring squads and those adopting these capabilities, this leader ensures alignment between governance policies and practical implementation, enhancing data usability for business users and the wider data community. Additionally, the role is accountable for ensuring data strategy outcomes are achieved through the effective implementation of published data capabilities and providing feedback on improvement areas to the Data Operating Council (DOC) for iterative enhancements.

This role is critical in ensuring that data capabilities are successfully adopted, fostering a data-driven culture, and equipping teams with the necessary tools and knowledge to scale and innovate effectively.

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Adoption Consistency & Reliability: Ensure that data capabilities are adopted in a consistent, reliable manner across all data domains and product squads.

  • Building a Learning Culture: Foster a culture of continuous learning within the organization, equipping teams with the knowledge to effectively use and scale data governance initiatives.

  • Connecting Data Strategy & Governance to Federated Implementation: Act as the bridge between data governance squads that define capabilities and the teams adopting them, ensuring smooth transitions and effective implementation.

  • Enhancing Data User Experience: Provide an optimal data experience to data product squads, business users, and the broader data community by improving accessibility and usability.

  • Addressing Adoption Challenges: Identify operational pain points and adoption challenges, implementing process improvements to enhance the adoption journey.

  • Managing Learning Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive learning materials for all rolled-out data capabilities, ensuring clarity and accessibility.

  • Accelerating Data Learning & Adoption: Organize initiatives such as Hackathons, hands-on training sessions, and adoption accelerators to drive enthusiasm and engagement in data capability adoption.

  • Ensuring Business Value: Validate that rolled-out data capabilities are effectively solving business problems and delivering measurable value.

  • Enhancing End-User Experience: Continuously improve the end-user experience, ensuring that adopted data capabilities are user-friendly and provide maximum impact.

  • Training Data Product Squads: Develop and deliver training programs to upskill data product squads, ensuring they have the necessary expertise to leverage data capabilities effectively.

  • Driving Consistency in Practice: Ensure that data product owners and squads are following best practices consistently across domains and aligning with published practice standards.

  • Achieving Data Strategy Outcomes: Ensure that data strategy outcomes are realized through the effective implementation of published data capabilities and provide feedback on improvement areas to the Data Operating Council (DOC) for iterative enhancement.

The Experience You Bring:

  • Proven experience in data governance, data management, or data enablement roles.

  • Strong track record of leading learning initiatives and driving capability adoption in large organizations.

  • Ability to effectively connect governance frameworks with operational execution.

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, data product squads, and business users to enhance data usability.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on improving adoption processes and user experience.

  • Communication & Relationship Management: Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills to drive alignment across teams and stakeholders while building strong relationships and fostering collaboration.

  • Decision-Making & Risk Management: Comfortable with ambiguity, makes data-driven decisions, takes calculated risks, and acts transparently with organizational best interests in mind.

  • Leadership & Team Development: Provides clear direction, motivates teams, fosters a collaborative environment, and is widely recognized as a strong developer of talent.

  • Resilience & Execution: Tenacious and accountable in driving results, able to persevere through challenges while maintaining high standards and commitment to continuous improvement.

  • Integrity & Servant Leadership: Respected, empathetic, and values teamwork, leading with a servant-leader mindset while maintaining high energy, resilience, and professionalism in all situations.
