Mohawk Medbuy Corporation (MMC) is a national, not-for-profit, shared services organization that supports hundreds of health care providers across Canada, as well as child welfare agencies and other public sector organizations. MMC provides value-driven contracting and procurement solutions for medical/surgical supplies, pharmaceutical products, local sourcing, capital (equipment, FF&E and redevelopment) and nutrition solutions. Other services include data analytics, in-hospital support, warehousing/logistics, technology, procure-to-pay, and accounts payable.

With an emerging focus on sustainability and reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples, MMC is actively supporting the creation of a resilient value chain that incorporates environmental, social and governance best practices. Based in Burlington, ON, the organization also has offices in Toronto, Thunder Bay, Kingston, Brantford, London and Chatham, and a distribution centre in Oakville.

We are currently recruiting for a full-time Solutions Architect to support our IT team.

Position Overview

The IT Solution Architect role is responsible for designing and delivering comprehensive integration solutions that support enterprise shared services. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders, including IT developers, testers, and business leaders, to ensure that business needs are met and solutions are effectively implemented.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and architecture of external customer business systems ensuring they align with business/corporate objectives.
  • Facilitate discussions with business and technical stakeholders to extract critical business requirements and present a holistic functional and technical vision and solutions in the form of software products, customizations, and integrations to meet those needs.
  • Oversee the technical implementation of multiple medium to large-sized IT business initiatives/projects, ensuring best practices and methodologies are followed.
  • Accordingly, Track, monitor, and communicate status against the project plan, requirements, quality and value measures, standard processes, and milestones
  • Provide technical guidance and support throughout the project/solutions lifecycle
  • Develop and maintain architectural documentation and end-to-end integrated solution blueprints.
  • Identify areas for improvement and innovation within existing systems for increased scalability, responsiveness, utilization and availability
  • Follow and improve, procedures, methodologies, governance and standards to ensure effective technical solution design, management of vendors and customers, and maintenance of the 'one build' concept in the shared services environment.
  • Communicates complex topics regarding solutions and related projects to audiences both with and without deep technical skills.

Qualifications and Skills

Skills and Competencies
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Dynamics365 core functionality, modules and best practices
  • Hands-on experience in developing, configuring and integrating Microsoft Dynamics365
  • Experience in senior Business Analysis, Business Architecture, Solutions Architecture roles in system domains such as procure-to-pay, supply chain, finance.
  • Experience in data integrations and ETL processes.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI), and related technologies.
  • Proven track record as a systems architect and successfully guiding technical teams
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Experience working in successful third-party vendor relationships.

Education, Training, and Experience
  • University Degree in Computer Science, Business or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years' of experience in solution architecture or a related role
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 implementation experience and/or participation in at least 2 full life cycle implementations
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and related technologies.

Preferred
  • Microsoft, ITIL certification in area of expertise is desirable.
  • Related business certifications are desirable.

Travel

  • Ability to travel to Mohawk Medbuy offices if required.
