What you'll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
  • Configure, program, implement and improve the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and Shop Floor IT (SFIT) solutions to drive manufacturing and logistics performance and productivity.
  • Possess both broad and deep knowledge of Production, Logistics and Quality IT systems and the ability to configure and deploy solutions based on robust modular application architecture.
  • Deploy, maintain, and continuously improve the implementation strategy and monitoring practices for manufacturing, logistics, and infrastructure interfaces, including interfaces to enterprise IT systems such as ERP, R&D PLM systems, and HR management systems.
  • Own the Production, Logistics and Quality IT system KPIs and perform regular benchmarking to identify opportunities for system performance improvement.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, technology advancements, and best practices related to MES, SFIT, and production and logistics process management.
  • Be the subject matter expert (SME) for production systems, providing technical expertise and guidance to the Production and Logistics IT team.
  • Lead during the early phases of a project/initiative, responsible for scoping the project, gathering requirements, collaboration with domain architects, and leading the teams to put together a scalable and sustainable solution.
  • Provide technical expertise and knowledge to ensure project execution excellence.

Location & Travel Expectations:
  • This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Columbia, South Carolina.
  • The responsibilities of this role require 3-5 daysattendance in office with in-person meetings and events regularly.
  • Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.
  • Travel: Domestic and International travel, up to 15%. Passport required.

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field preferred, or 10 years relevant experience in application/systems development or architecture in lieu of degree.
  • Experience as an IT system developer in a manufacturing environment preferred, experience at an Automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier a plus.
  • Experience with ERP integrations to MES is required.
  • Experience integrating manufacturing shop floor systems from ERP to SCADA levels within the manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with Industrial Engineering (IE) concepts and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in software development and modern IT architecture concepts.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing production systems, logistics and supply chain solutions in a 24/7 production environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot and resolve system-related issues, then develop improved solutions to mitigate or eliminate issue recurrence.
  • Ability to translate high level needs into architecture requirements, then communicating these requirements to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent communication, planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with others efficiently and effectively in a dynamic greenfield environment.

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range = $110,000.00 - $130,000.00
