Position Summary

Axcelus Financial is seeking a savvy and dynamic Business Development Manager who will support growth initiatives within a company sitting at the intersection of alternative investments and insurance, catering to high-net-worth and institutional clients.

This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate to deepen their knowledge of and become a subject matter expert on the alternative investments landscape within the insurance sphere. Working side by side with senior sales team members the business development manager will engage with our large network of asset managers and financial advisors to provide their High Net Worth and Ultra High Net Worth clients with customized insurance-based solutions designed to grow and preserve their assets

Responsibilities
  • Develop deep knowledge in alternative investments and private placement insurance and their benefits to our client base.
  • Supports Sales and Investments Teams in the origination, education and ongoing servicing of third-party distribution relationships in pursuit of new business development opportunities.
  • Accountable for the development and maintenance of marketing collateral and communication, in coordination with senior team members.
  • Leverage data analytics to drive engagement, target marketing efforts and measure success.
  • Build, maintain, and continuously grow a portfolio of clients - Private Banks, Wirehouses, Hedge Funds, RIAs, Family Offices, Institutional Clients and Multi-Family Offices.
  • Oversee case pipeline, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to provide end-to-end sales support ensuring a smooth client experience and successful deal execution.
  • Engage with our large network of asset managers and financial advisors to provide solutions for a range of audience needs and services.

The Ideal Candidate will possess the following:
  • Client service experience with high-net-worth individuals.
  • Experience in sales support role in financial services, preferably with a focus on alternative investments or insurance.
  • Basic knowledge of compliance regulations and how they relate to marketing materials and functions.
  • Self-motivated and team-focused individual.
  • Experience using CRM systems (Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.).
  • Experience with the Adobe Creative Cloud
  • FINRA Series 6 or 7 and 63, and/or Variable Insurance licenses or ability to obtain within six months of hire

Requirements
  • Two to four years' experience in sales, client service, or a related field
  • Exceptional oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and interest in remaining current with emerging technologies as well as design trends
  • FINRA Series 6 or 7 and 63, and/or Variable Insurance licenses or ability to obtain within six months of hire
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, demonstrating teamwork, constructive feedback and active participation

This is a hybrid role (3 days per week in office during three to six-month training period, reducing to 2 days per week thereafter) based out of Philadelphia or New York.
