Job Overview:
Lead and develop DMS program management resources to flawlessly execute program launches through multidisciplinary engagement and disciplined execution of the GODMS (APQP) development process to exceed productivity, quality, and financial targets.
Primary Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Participate and actualize actions items resulting from strategic discussions with Department Manager, Sr. Launch Manager, Senior Launch Supervisor on launch team vision, culture, and talent.
- Working senior program manager will be expected to manage programs while support 4 direct reports.
- Work with commercial team to ensure resource alignment to support future business targets.
- Coordinate with Sr. Launch Manager on program resources to deliver on the contractual obligations to the customer.
- Continually develop, manage, and facilitate the GODMS (APQP) program launch process.
- Offer guidance and ensure all program managers have support in executing their projects to scope.
- Develop "what good looks like" WGLL for new program launch tools, and processes.
- Chair monthly executive review meetings and ensure presentation content meet GODMS launch process requirements.
- Chair monthly customer launch readiness meetings and ensure presentation content meet customer launch process requirements.
- Track launch KPIs and manage activities necessary for continuous improvements.
- Coach and develop launch and cross functional team members in the proper execution of the GODMS launch process.
- Execute yearly performance process for program managers and engage in career development planning.
- Actively engage with cross functional leadership to help drive "what good looks like" for DMS business systems.
- Lead re-occurring program management team meetings to ensure company & team vision and expectations are shared with the program managers.
- Promote team engagement through open & honest knowledge sharing and input to continuous improvements.
- Be a leader in exemplifying the DMS RICH & GIFTED values.
- Track launch KPIs and manage activities necessary for continuous improvements.
- Owns Program Management process per TS/IATF-16949 standards and ensures each program is compliant to standards.
- Use proper escalation to solicit management support for any functional area not delivering on expectations.
Required Skills/Education/Experience:
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and/or qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Business, a related technical field or equivalent work experience.
- At least 5 years' experience in Program Management or APQP process development and execution.
- Experience in leading and developing teams and negotiating "win-win" outcomes with internal and external customers.
- A "change agent" that can perform in a demanding environment where change is common.
- Experience in OEM and Suppliers' Manufacturing/Quality Systems.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to proactively address issues.
- Initiative-taker and ability to motivate various teams.
- Influential leader with proven history of mentoring and coaching.
- Ability to present information and convey messages in a manner appropriate for diverse levels in the internal and supplier organization.
- Able to perform in a challenging environment where change is common.
